Yellowstone fans all saying the same thing after shocking finale death
As a lifelong fan of western dramas, I must say that the finale of Yellowstone left me with a mix of emotions, much like the rugged terrain of Montana itself. The series has always been known for its gripping storylines and complex characters, but this season’s climax was particularly poignant.
On Sunday, the exciting finale of Yellowstone resonated with a stunning character demise, causing a buzz among fans on various social platforms as they discussed it online.
The dramatic final episode tied up several major storylines, including Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) selling the iconic Yellowstone ranch back to its original owners, the Broken Rock Indians.
However, the most surprising turn of events during the evening was when Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), in a dramatic twist, sought justice for her father’s murder by taking the life of her adoptive brother, Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley).
In a life-threatening confrontation, I found myself in a situation where I had to defend myself against Jamie. As he tried to choke me, I ended up fatally stabbing him, a heart-wrenching act that was necessary for my survival. My husband, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), assisted me in disposing of the body and thus, we unintentionally perpetuated our family’s troubled past.
As a devoted fan, I must admit that the series finale sparked a wide range of opinions among viewers. However, one thing that seemed to bring us all together was the demise of Jamie. Many fans, including myself, viewed it as long-awaited justice served.
One excited fan exclaimed, “I agree! Jamie’s been due for a tough break for years now!” (on X)
Another chimed in, ‘Jamie got what he deserved!’
One viewer humorously added, ‘Love that Beth finally ended Jamie, but lowkey wish we could’ve seen Rip whoop that ass a little bit more. Throwing him around a little wasn’t enough for Jamie’s sorry ass. #Yellowstone.’
On the other hand, not all supporters were rooting for Beth. Instead, some expressed disagreement, showing empathy towards Jamie and offering constructive criticism about the series’ progression.
A fan expressed, ‘Jamie is no more. Yet, I’m not joyful. I remain a supporter of Jamie.’ However, it seems the public feels differently. ‘John Dutton wasn’t a virtuous man, and his family has tarnished Jamie.’s reputation.
Another took aim at the series creator: ‘Dear #TaylorSheridan, Jamie was never the supervillain you wanted us to believe he was. That was cheap. That was lazy. That was predictable.
Wes Bentley’s portrayal and the character he played could have been improved. Over the course of five seasons, there was ample opportunity to make things better, but it seems that wasn’t fully realized.
Others turned their ire toward Beth herself.
A viewer expressed their opinion, saying ‘Beth Dutton never accepted any blame for becoming pregnant as a teenager and asking Jamie, who was also a teenager at the time, to help conceal it. She held him responsible for it and now, having murdered him, she’s escaped justice. She’s truly despicable.’ #Yellowstone
The show’s events corroborated a hypothesis established in the 1883 finale. In this finale, an individual known as Spotted Eagle (portrayed by Graham Greene), who was of Indian descent, predicted that his people would reclaim the land after seven generations. Remarkably, this prediction came to pass.
Kayce negotiated a bargain with Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham), agreeing to transfer him the land at a remarkably low rate of $1.25 per acre. This price mirrored the cost of land back in 1883, totaling approximately $1.1 million for Montana’s largest ranch.
@zest674 expressed that the solution is beneficial for everyone and the environment, while @TiffSmallwood questioned if the solution meant returning the land to the Indigenous community. (#Yellowstone #YellowstoneTV)
@iLEADFARMER exclaims, ‘I’ve been waiting for this moment! Indeed, it appears that Kayce is returning the ranch back to the Broken Rock Reservation! The prophecy from 1883, when James Dutton first acquired the land, seems to be on the verge of being fulfilled!!!!!’
In a ritual, they’re making small cuts on their hands using a knife. This act symbolizes their newfound bond as brothers, not just to each other, but also to the land. A prophecy from the 1800s has now been fulfilled after seven generations have passed! (tweeted by @TheWSB)
Sandra Trolinger stated, ‘Kasey and his loved ones have been safeguarded, and the ranch continues as it always has, untamed and unfettered. Well done!’
@LilMar68 exclaimed, ‘Kayce, I’m incredibly proud of you!’ with the hashtags #YellowstoneTV and #Yellowstone
In reference to the part where Jamie discusses the selling of his ranch, Tangee B (@DejaCQQ99) commented that it was an impactful moment.
@The_WSB expressed, ‘A pledge from 7 generations past – finally fulfilled! The act of harvesting palms was painful! #YellowstoneTV #Yellowstone’
1923, the sequel to the Yellowstone prequel series, is set to premiere on February 23, continuing its captivating storyline.
