The spy thriller created by Taylor Sheridan, known as “Lioness,” has found a new streaming platform in the UK for its viewing.
Initially aired on Paramount+, the program remains there for viewing. However, it’s also set to appear on ITVX in the near future.
According to a recent announcement, the initial installment of the gripping thriller will be available for streaming on ITVX starting from September 7th, and the second season is expected to debut on the platform in 2026.
In the series, Zoe Saldaña portrays a top CIA official, leading an elite, female counter-terrorism squad. Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman assume roles as her commanding officers in this production.
Sarah Breslau, head of content acquisitions, expressed her excitement about introducing an action-packed series on ITVX.

Featuring a remarkable ensemble headed by Zoe Saldaña, and boasting the distinctive narrative style of both Nicole Kidman and Taylor Sheridan, ‘Lioness’ joins our top-tier collection of international dramatic series.
Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has quite the discrepancy in the responses to the two seasons.
In Season 1, there were a total of 36 critics’ reviews analyzed, with approximately 56% of them being favorable. On the other hand, for Season 2, we have only 10 critic reviews so far, yet a remarkable 90% of these reviews have been positive.

In their review, the Daily Telegraph described season 1 as an action-packed thriller that delves only superficially. It lacked the intricate storylines found in Homeland, and its dialogue had a predictable, overly dramatic quality reminiscent of Top Gun.
Empire Magazine remarked that while Taylor Sheridan’s newest television series sometimes strays into implausible territory, it effectively combines intense espionage action with personal issues, creating a largely engaging overall experience.
According to The Times of India’s review, Season 2 of Lioness is a significant improvement over the first season, offering a more captivating storyline while remaining faithful to the original show’s essence. It’s described as being more daring, exhilarating, and boasting stronger character development.
“You can find Lioness streaming on Paramount+ right now. Plus, Season 1 will be available on ITVX starting from September 7th, and Season 2 is scheduled for release in 2026.”
The latest issue of Digital Spy’s print edition has arrived! You can purchase the Oasis – Live in ’25’ magazine from newsstands or online for only £8.99.
