Yellowjackets stars explain their characters’ “cosmically connected” relationship

Yellowjackets actors Tawny Cypress and Lauren Ambrose delve deep into the complexities of their characters Tai and Van’s bond, revealing they share an unusual cosmic connection that isn’t exactly beneficial to them.

As young teens, they found themselves deeply drawn to one another while navigating the unknown wilderness together. Despite leading separate lives in their adult years, an enduring affection persists between them.

Following the emotional events of season 3, such as Van discovering her cancer is in remission and their connection to a waiter’s demise, they have once again ventured into the seemingly supernatural realm of the wilderness.

In the teenage years, it was actually Van who captivated Tai, as portrayed by Jasmin Savoy Brown. She explained to the publication that “Tai finds a certain charm in Van and can be so serious and focused. The carefree nature and zoom-in/zoom-out quality of Van is quite refreshing for Tai in the wilderness.

This experience offers her opportunities for laughter, enchantment, and the simple joy of teenage romance. I doubt anyone but Van could evoke such feelings within Tai.
