Yasmin Le Bon’s Modelling Career Left Her in Chronic Pain and Depressed

She was once one of the highest paid models in the world.

Yet, Yasmin Le Bon has disclosed that her career as a runway model led to persistent pain and deep depression for her.

60-year-old star had only turned 17 when a model scout discovered her, leading her to sign with the Models 1 Agency in London following her graduation from school.

Throughout her professional journey, she emerged as the recognizable symbol for brands like Versace, Chanel, and Dior. She also adorned the front pages of magazines such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Harper’s Bazaar, among others.

In the course of discussing her career, Yasmin shared that it had caused her to endure chronic back problems for quite some time.

Speaking in an interview with Hello Magazine she confessed she has ‘paid the price’ physically.

The celebrity shared: ‘There have been periods in my existence that turned exceptionally difficult due to unbearable pain while walking and an inability to engage in activities. It’s truly challenging.’

She commented: ‘I empathize with anyone who has experienced back pain or is currently dealing with it. I believe it’s not only physical but also psychological, overcoming the possibility that you might need to endure some level of pain persistently. You can manage it, you just need to adapt your approach to everything.’

Yasmin explained that she frequently performed elegant jumps over stage sets, all while donning high heels – a feat that’s seldom seen today.

Simultaneously, this style role model shared insights into her constant vigilance against predatory actions, crediting her robust character for steering clear of awkward scenarios.

The celebrity acknowledged that there were some situations where things might have turned out otherwise, as she put it: “I believe after those two occurrences, anything that made me feel in any way powerless, I ensured would never recur again…. I believe you can’t afford to give even an inch.

She outlined the methods photographers use to assess and challenge you mentally, aiming to determine your suitability for a task or your resilience in the profession.

Despite the pressure, she remained authentic to her character and admitted that she’d always possessed a straightforward demeanor, even during her youth.

Yasmin has consistently had her long-time partner, Simon Le Bon, standing with her since they tied the knot back in 1985 when she was only 21 years old.

She has three daughters, one being Amber (age 35), another Saffron (age 33), and the youngest, Tallulah (age 30). These are her daughters with the lead singer of Duran Duran. This year, Amber became a mother for the first time.

Previously, Yasmin openly discussed the strain caused by her daughters going through their teenage years and the self-imposed demands of being a working mother. This tension ultimately led to her reaching a breaking point.

In an interview with You Magazine back in 2016, she stated that no one has the power to break your heart into pieces using just a few words as effectively as they can.

Initially, she strove to be quite firm as a new parent; however, she confessed later on: ‘As they grow older, maintaining such high levels of discipline becomes challenging due to exhaustion. Eventually, during their teenage years, they seemed to have the ability to manipulate my authority.’

Yasmin confessed that she experienced something like a mental collapse, explaining that she believes it may have contributed to her back problems too.

My vitality had significantly dropped; I was experiencing poor-quality sleep, and my post-workout recovery was disappointingly slow. Unresolved issues from the past seemed to be accumulating, exacerbating my situation considerably. It was high time for me to tackle these unaddressed matters.

She remarked: “You’ve become so closely connected with all their emotions, all their worries… For quite some time, I’ve served as a sparring partner, and the impact is showing.

The constant emotional burden tipped me over the limit, affecting my back terribly. I found it unbearable, and I sank into a gloomy state. But you know, that’s why we have friends to help us out!

The emotional strain accumulated beyond my capacity, especially on my back. It was excruciating, leaving me in a deep depression. However, isn’t it great that friends are there to support us during tough times?

Amber and her partner, Ben Mercer, quietly welcomed their baby boy, Sasha Echo Le Bon Mercer, into their lives on January 30.

She shared with HELLO! magazine, expressing: “I can’t get enough of him. I find myself constantly gazing at him, wondering, ‘How will I manage anything else in life? All I yearn for is to hug you and inhale your scent…

Initially, we had only two names under consideration, but as he was introduced, I commented, “I believe his name is Sasha,” because it has always been a name I find appealing.

‘Echo is a name from Greek mythology, and we liked the way it flowed on from his first name.’

Amber labored for 40 hours at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where she delivered Sasha, weighing 7 pounds and 6 ounces. Both Ben and Amber’s mother were present to support her during the birth.

She mentioned that her partner was exceptionally skilled during the delivery, an event that transpired as the sounds of a thunderstorm echoed from some speakers.
