Xiaohai reigns supreme as the King of Fighters XV Champion at EVO 2024

At EVO 2024, the second-to-last fighting game competition, a new king has emerged for The King of Fighters tournament. This year’s champion in King of Fighters XV is none other than Xiaohai.

Xiaohai has proven himself once again as the undisputed champion, having emerged victorious in the competition and earning the title of “King of Fighters” for the fourth time at EVO. With this latest triumph, his status as the greatest player in King of Fighters history is even more firmly established.

Xiaohai is The King of Fighters

At EVO 2024, King of Fighters XV took the limelight as the premier fighting game in the lineup. This popular anime-style fighting game has graced the EVO stage for several years running.

Among the almost 400 competitors in the tournament, just one emerged victorious. Xiaohai conquered all four sections to secure his fourth crown as the EVO Champion of King of Fighters, effectively establishing himself as one of, if not the top-tier King of Fighters players.

Xiaohai has consistently been among the best King of Fighters competitors, from his victory at EVO in 2014 up until his consecutive victories at EVO in 2023.

Xiaohai’s path to victory was filled with challenges. He went head-to-head with formidable opponents to secure the championship title. From the very beginning of the tournament, Xiaohai’s past achievements at EVO 2023 and EVO Japan 2023 placed him under intense scrutiny.

The finals day began with Xiaohai facing off against SCORE in the semifinals, while Tamago battled it out with ViolentKain. In the first match, Xiaohai relied on his favorite fighters – Geese, Benimaru, and Isla – to secure a 2-0 victory over SCORE.

In the second Winner’s Semi-final bout, Tamago mimicked the previous victory by defeating ViolentKain with a score of 2-0.

Xiaohai had earned a place in the final round against Tamago. He then observed as SCORE, E.T., ViolentKain, and KoferoHonesto battled in the consolation matches.

The Lower Bracket presented a significant challenge for E.T., but ultimately, he mounted a compelling comeback and reached the Grand Final after traversing the loser’s bracket.

Supported by the crowd and determined after making it through the elimination rounds, he prepared himself for the ultimate challenge against the King of Fighters’ champion.

Yet, Xiaohai proved why he’s hailed as the best King of Fighters player ever during the Grand Finals. His superior skills shone through, even against E.T.’s strong momentum.

Despite being archrivals for a long time, both E.T. and Xiaohai have fierce competition not only in the King of Fighters tournament but also in various other games. Their Best-of-five matches were filled with intense back-and-forth battles.

In a fiercely competitive Game 3 face-off between Xiaohai and his rival, resembling a mirror image of each other’s skills, Xiaohai emerged as the victor. Subsequently, he was crowned the King of Fighters XV EVO 2024 champion.
