In October 2022, Microsoft unveiled intentions for a Game Store on mobile devices, with the goal of competing against Google and Apple’s market dominance. In December of the previous year, Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox, confirmed this development, stating that he had been discussing plans with potential partners to launch Microsoft’s own mobile application store.
