As a big Xbox fan, it’s honestly hard to keep track of what’s going on over there! They have so many different game studios, but not all of them are constantly putting out new titles. And with all the recent changes happening at the company, it’s tough to feel confident about what’s coming next. It’s gotten to the point where even games that have already been announced don’t always feel guaranteed to actually release, which is a little worrying.
We’re looking forward to seeing what Xbox has planned for the future, particularly with the development of Project Helix. This week, Microsoft will reveal details about a significant new release. Although a recent leak caused some confusion, Xbox Wire will publish a post this Thursday to clarify everything.
Metro 2039 Has Been Confirmed
Directly By Xbox
Xbox will officially reveal the new Metro 2039 game on Thursday, April 16th. Developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver, the reveal will be a dedicated presentation – similar to a Nintendo Direct – showcasing the first-ever look at the latest Metro installment.
The highly anticipated Metro 2039 has been officially confirmed by Microsoft, ending speculation after details leaked online. This is the fourth major installment in the Metro series, which began in 2010 with Metro 2033, and will once again take place in Moscow. Fans are thrilled, with some even saying they’re more excited for this game than for Grand Theft Auto 6.
We’ll have more details later this week, but it looks like sci-fi author Dmitry Glukhovsky is still working on the Metro series. He announced Metro 2039 on his Instagram, and both fans and the creators are really excited about it, suggesting a big launch is coming.
We’re hoping the game will be released on all platforms around the same time and that we’ll get a good idea of when it’s coming out – ideally a specific date! But fans understand that a little extra time to polish the game is worth the wait.
A Metro 2039 Stream Is Later This Week
It’s Scheduled For Thursday
Join us this Thursday, April 16th, at 1 PM Eastern Time on YouTube for a stream about the upcoming game, Metro 2039! Developed by 4A Games, this new first-person shooter will take you to a dark and dangerous post-apocalyptic Moscow, where you’ll fight for survival and the future of the Metro.
Xbox has announced the stream will be available in many languages, including Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Slovakian, Spanish (both Castilian and Mexican versions), Swedish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
It’s notable that Xbox is taking advantage of this situation, especially since many people expected a similar announcement from PlayStation during a predicted State of Play event on April 16th.
