Xbox Cloud Gaming to Reportedly Start Letting You Stream Owned Games From November
As a long-time gamer who’s always on the move, this latest announcement from Microsoft has me practically doing backflips! I remember the days of hauling around my bulky console and games just to get my gaming fix on the go. But with Xbox Cloud Gaming, it seems like those days are finally over. Streaming my entire library of games from anywhere? Sign me up!
It seems that Microsoft is set to fulfill its previously stated intent (as previously expressed by Xbox CEO Phil Spencer this year) by allowing players to stream their entire collection of owned games through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Starting in November, you’ll be able to stream your game library – not just titles supported by Game Pass.
As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled about the latest news from Microsoft! It appears they are working on a new feature as part of their internal project called ‘Project Lapland’. This initiative aims to enhance their Xbox Cloud Gaming servers to stream thousands of games. Insiders will be among the first to try it out next month, with broader availability and more games coming later.
The expansion of Xbox Cloud Gaming is happening simultaneously with the option for Android device users to buy games directly within the Xbox App, starting in November, as announced by Xbox President Sarah Bond. Initially, this feature will only be accessible to US users at first, and it’s being implemented due to a court ruling that no longer requires Google Play Billing for Play Store apps from 1st November.
With enhanced Xbox Cloud Gaming compatibility, this allows you to purchase a game using your Android device and instantly stream the gameplay right back onto the very same device. Handy, isn’t it?
