Xavier Woods is going to turn on Kofi Kingston
As a die-hard WWE fan since the Attitude Era, I’ve seen it all – from the rise and fall of legends to the emergence of new stars. The New Day has been a shining beacon in this ever-changing landscape for a decade now, and they’ve left an indelible mark on the tag team division. From Kofi Kingston’s historic WWE Championship win to Big E’s dominant reign, their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Over the past ten years, The New Day has been a consistent highlight on WWE television, leaving an indelible mark on the tag team division. Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods have amassed a wealth of accolades, cementing themselves as one of the most illustrious factions in WWE history. Individually, they’ve also achieved great success, with Kingston and Big E both claiming the WWE Championship title, while Woods was crowned 2021’s King of the Ring.
Following an injury in March 2022 that potentially ended Big E’s career, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods carried on as a typical tag team. However, it seems their popular trio, The New Day, may be breaking up. This is hinted by recent events, as it appears Karrion Kross could be the cause of the internal conflicts within The New Day.
After the 2024 WWE Draft, The New Day initiated a feud with The Final Testament, and their leader, Karrion Kross, has been trying to sow discord between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Woods, who is the only member of The New Day without substantial individual success in singles matches, is the pawn that Kross is using to play mental games with Woods and make him believe that Kofi Kingston is impeding his progress.
It seems that Kross has managed to influence Woods’ mind, as his recent behavior and facial expressions hint at an impending shift in allegiance – a heel turn. This transformation was particularly evident during the August 5, 2024 episode of Raw, when Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Odyssey Jones shared a backstage segment. The storyline might continue for several more weeks, leading up to Woods reaching his limit and launching a violent attack on Kofi Kingston to solidify his heel turn.
Xavier Woods appears well-equipped for a thriving solo career, and he could convincingly portray a villainous character. Yet, given the present WWE scene and the abundance of remarkable talent, it’s uncertain if Woods will break into main events or capture a world championship title. Nevertheless, let’s not rule out this possibility since unexpected events have occurred in WWE history that initially appeared implausible.
At present, we can only wish that WWE discovers the ideal setting for Xavier Woods to shine as a solo performer within their roster, and may he scale new heights to etch his name alongside the legends of the wrestling industry.
