X-Men reboot likely to pick up the pace in early 2026

According to entertainment insider @MyTimeToShineHello on X (formerly Twitter), Marvel is beginning to plan its reboot of the X-Men. They are currently revising the script and expect to begin casting actors in early 2026.

Rumors are circulating that Marvel Studios is interested in Millie Bobby Brown for a part in their upcoming X-Men reboot. A source on X (formerly Twitter) shared that Brown is being considered for a role as an X-Men character in the new movies. While Marvel hasn’t confirmed which character she might play, fans online are guessing it could be Jean Grey, Kitty Pryde, Mystique, or Rogue.

Marvel Studios is officially bringing the X-Men to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with a fresh start and a brand new cast, now that they own the rights after acquiring 20th Century Fox. Jake Schreier, who directed ‘Thunderbolts,’ will be directing the reboot. Marvel hasn’t announced when filming will begin or when the movie will be released.

The studio intends to launch the rebooted film following the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, which is currently scheduled for December 17, 2027. This timing places the reboot within the next major phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after the Multiverse Saga concludes.

Besides Millie Bobby Brown, several other actors are reportedly being considered for roles in the upcoming Marvel film. Sources suggest Jesse Plemons might play Beast, Julia Butters could be Kitty Pryde, Hunter Schafer is in contention for Mystique, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss is a possibility for Jubilee, Cynthia Erivo could take on Storm, Margaret Qualley is being looked at for Rogue, and Harris Dickinson and Jack Champion are both potential choices for Cyclops.
