X Factor star Jai Waetford welcomes his first child with his partner Bec Donaghy
Jai Waetford has welcomed his first child with his partner Bec Donaghy.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share a heartwarming update from a familiar face: the ex-child prodigy of X Factor Australia, now 25, has made an exciting announcement! He expressed his joy by posting a touching Instagram snapshot featuring his girlfriend, Bec, tenderly holding their newborn bundle of joy.
‘Sleepy angel,’ he simply captioned the photo.
On New Year’s Day, I couldn’t contain my excitement any longer! You see, my beloved couple had some fantastic news to share – they were having a baby together! To express their joy, they posted captivating pictures showcasing Bec’s blossoming baby bump, and it was simply magical.
Back in 2013, at a mere 14 years of age, I found myself catapulted into stardom through The X Factor. And now, here I am, cherishing every moment with the amazing Bec, as I gently hold her belly in affection.

In the realm of fashion, I couldn’t help but embody an impeccable style icon as I donned a sleek black T-shirt, paired with cargo pants that oozed casual cool. Topping off my ensemble was a sleek pleather jacket that added an edgy touch, and to complete the look, I slipped into a pair of crisp white sneakers.
Beaming with pride, Bec showcased her growing belly in a sleek black bandeau top and stylish low-rise grey jeans. She casually draped a cropped faux leather jacket over her shoulders.
In an accompanying caption, the couple gushed: ‘Baby Waetford coming 2025.’
It isn’t clear for certain when Jai and Bec began their relationship, however, they started showing up on each other’s Instagram posts in the year 2023.
In July 2023, they made their relationship public on Instagram by posting a sweet photo of them showing affection, which was uploaded to Bec’s account.
Australian vocalist Jai won over many hearts in his home country after appearing on The X Factor in 2013 and being given the moniker ‘Homegrown Bieber’.
He left a strong impression during his audition as he performed Different Worlds by Jes Hudak, as well as an original composition titled Don’t Let Me Go.
Ultimately, he ended up finishing third during the fifth season of The X Factor Australia, and his initial song “Your Eyes” reached number six on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart.

Back in 2016, I made a significant shift from my singing journey and embarked on a new adventure within the realm of television. My first steps into this field were taken when I joined the cast of Neighbours, playing the role of Angus Beaumont-Hannay for the very first time.
For approximately 50 episodes, he played the role of Sarah Beaumont and Peter Hannay’s son, but later announced his move to Hollywood.
After joining forces with the influential American talent agency, Creative Artists Agency, he had a stint in Africa and South America, then eventually made his way back to Australia.
Since relocating back Down Under, Jai returned to screens in Stan drama Critical Incident.
