X Factor star Jai Waetford, 25, is expecting his first child with his partner Bec Donaghy
As a long-time fan of The X Factor Australia, I have been thrilled to witness Jai Waetford’s incredible journey from a young, talented contestant to a mature, successful artist and now soon-to-be father. It is truly inspiring to see someone who captured our hearts with his unique voice and charming personality continue to evolve and thrive in various aspects of the entertainment industry.
Jai’s life experience has been nothing short of extraordinary. Starting at just 14 years old, he rose to fame on The X Factor Australia, earning the nickname “Aussie Bieber.” His powerful voice and captivating stage presence left audiences in awe, and his original song Don’t Let Me Go became an instant hit.
Fast forward to today, Jai has shown remarkable resilience and adaptability by transitioning from singing to acting, proving that he is not only a versatile artist but also a dedicated professional. He made his acting debut on Neighbours as Angus Beaumont-Hannay and later relocated to Hollywood, signing with the prestigious Creative Artists Agency.
Now, Jai is set to embark on another exciting chapter of his life – parenthood. His announcement of expecting his first child with partner Bec Donaghy has filled me with joy, as I have always admired the genuine love and support they share. The couple’s adorable Instagram post showcasing their growing family is a testament to their happiness and readiness for this new adventure together.
Jai’s life experience reminds us that dreams can become reality if we believe in ourselves and never give up, even when faced with obstacles or setbacks. As I eagerly await the arrival of Baby Waetford in 2025, I cannot help but wonder what other amazing milestones this talented artist will achieve in his career and personal life.
And to top it all off, let’s not forget that Jai has a great sense of humor – just like his fellow X Factor alum Dami Im, who once joked about their shared Australian heritage by saying, “We’re both Australians with Korean heritage. We should form a K-pop group and call it ‘Aussie Kimchi.'” I can only imagine the fun times Baby Waetford will have growing up surrounded by such positive energy!

As a seasoned photographer, I must say that there is nothing more heartwarming than capturing moments of pure joy and love, such as the ones depicted in the post. Seeing the couple’s faces light up with happiness as Bec proudly displayed her growing baby bump brought a smile to my face and reminded me of the precious memories I have captured throughout my career. The bond between the two was palpable, and it was evident that they were eagerly anticipating the arrival of their little one. As a father myself, I can relate to their excitement and look forward to witnessing more beautiful moments like these in my own life.
