As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen it all – from the glitz and glamour of the red carpet to the gritty reality of injuries sustained while performing. Edward Grimes, one-half of the iconic duo Jedward, is no stranger to either. His recent fractured ankle is a stark reminder that even stars like him can trip up (pun intended) in the most unexpected moments.

Jedward star Edward Grimes has been left devastated after fracturing his ankle.

32-year-old X Factor icon recently expressed his disappointment on a platform known as X (formerly Twitter), disclosing that he sustained an injury during the Dublin City University fresher’s ball last week.

In a heartfelt post on Thursday, I shared a photo of my bandaged foot, revealing that I’ll be getting an X-ray on my ankle tomorrow. Unfortunately, I injured it during a performance in Dublin, but I didn’t want to let everyone down. I fought through the pain for all of you ❤️.

On the next day, Edward shared that he had received a response from the hospital, and he was deeply saddened by the news he received.

Accompanying photos showing him in a medical boot and using crutches, he expressed: “It’s broken, I’m heartbroken because after so many years of performing, my ankle finally gave way last night!

Edward continued: ‘Crazy 24hrs! Going to take it easy and heal! Thanks for all your kind messages!’

I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from fans who swiftly shared their warm messages, offering encouragement and prayers for a prompt recovery, as they cheered me on.

In 2009, during the sixth season of The X Factor, the Irish singing duo Jedward (consisting of the singer and his twin brother John) rose to prominence together.

Following their sixth-place finish, they subsequently put out four studio albums. The initial two albums achieved double platinum status in Ireland.

The divisive double act went on to represent Ireland at Eurovision for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012.

Previously this year, Jedward found themselves embroiled in a heated verbal dispute with their previous guide, Louis Walsh, following his labeling of them as “despicable” during Celebrity Big Brother.

In response, Jedward called the music manager, 71, an ‘evil manipulator’.

Although Louis is no longer backing them, the twins have recently been mingling with numerous high-profile celebrities.

In July, the reality stars bumped into Katy Perry and couldn’t resist filming a fun video with the star.

In a lively performance, the pop duo burst into Katy Perry’s popular song “I Kissed a Girl.” As she twirled, Perry playfully shook her hips towards the camera.

In another video, the three-piece group appeared cheerful while they danced and belted out the latest song “Lifetimes” by the star, which is set to be released on her upcoming album titled 143.

Later on, Katy Perry made her appearance at the London club, The Box, and shared a dance floor with Jedward, all while enjoying a mixed drink.

Jedward shared on their social media platform: “We adore our lady @katyperry! Her new album is just brilliant, we’re jampacked with excitement and can’t wait for everyone to listen to it.

Also sharing a clip, Katy added: ‘These 143 playbacks have really evolved into straight up parties. love you London can’t wait for u lot to hear the rest of 143!’

Over the past few months, celebrity pair Jedward have been associated with several high-profile personalities such as Rebel Wilson and Ed Sheeran.

Earlier this year, prior to Rebel Wilson’s London Palladium performance, the duo were spotted grinning broadly as they posed for pictures in the backstage area.

Alongside Ed Sheeran, known for his hit song “Bad Habits,” John and Edward had previously marked a decade of friendship by publishing a collection of photos featuring the celebrity.

10 years of cherished friendship, sharing moments with @teddysphotos and JedSheeran, a bond that lasts forever! It’s fantastic witnessing you electrify Dublin and us grooving to the infectious Jepic energy.

Apart from their fame, this pair is recognized for their long-standing friendship with reality TV personality Gemma Collins (from The Only Way Is Essex) and film actress Tara Reid (known for American Pie), whom they first encountered 13 years back on the Celebrity Big Brother show.
