Wynonna Judd Opens Up About Raising Granddaughter Amid Daughter’s Legal Troubles

Country music icon, Wynonna Judd, offers fans an insightful peek into the unique bond she shares with her granddaughter, Kaliyah.

Despite typically maintaining a private persona regarding her personal matters, the 60-year-old singer recently shared an uncommon update about nurturing her two-year-old daughter during her stint as a guest host on the Today Show last Thursday.

In the aftermath of her mother, Naomi Judd’s suicide in April 2022, Judd has taken on the responsibility of looking after his granddaughter, due to his daughter, Grace Kelley, encountering multiple legal issues repeatedly.

In the year 2024, Kelley faced arrest on two separate occasions. The first incident involved accusations of soliciting prostitution. Subsequently, she was taken into custody again, this time for alleged theft of a church van, which she reportedly drove in a reckless manner under the influence of heroin.

As a devoted admirer, I shared some heartfelt moments with the delightful Jenna Bush Hager. In our conversation, Judd Apatow confessed that he strives to steer clear of digital diversions when cherishing precious moments with his granddaughter, choosing instead to immerse himself fully in their bonding time.

She shared that she doesn’t own a computer, and she only watches TV when it’s scheduled because she’s taking care of her 2½-year-old granddaughter. Instead, she focuses on her granddaughter.

The artist mentioned that her decision to avoid excessive technology often results in seldom posting pictures on Instagram. Moreover, she strictly prohibits phones during meal times.

Yet, there’s one essential item that young Kaliyah simply cannot do without – the renowned YouTube personality, Ms. Rachel.

The well-known figure from social media, known as Rachel Accurso off-screen, boasts a collection of highly acclaimed kids’ songs on the video-streaming platform, named “Songs For Littles.

Ms. Rachel began sharing her videos in the year 2019. However, it was during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic that they gained significant popularity. This was because parents who found themselves at home due to the pandemic were eagerly seeking out methods to amuse their kids.

‘I’m about to lose my mind,’ Judd joked about her overdose on children’s music.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I admire the dedication of Ms. Rachel in crafting videos that kids love. However, it’s important to note that my skills and interests lie more towards adult-focused content, and creating child-oriented videos just isn’t my cup of tea.

She confessed that she couldn’t speak as enthusiastically as that. Wishing she could be more expressive, she simply doesn’t know how to do it.

‘My life on the farm is simple and sweet, which is what we need more of,’ Judd continued.

A significant aspect of her avoidance of distracting technologies and her rural lifestyle is an effort to establish a more stable existence, following decades of constant traveling.

She acknowledged that she does whatever is necessary to figure out how to survive without being tethered to the road. This is because her life began on the road at the age of 17, and thus, she missed out on learning how to live a regular life outside of the entertainment industry.

‘Food, family and fun is my goal,’ Judd added pleasantly.

She has stepped in to care for her grandchild amid her daughter Grace’s repeated legal issues.

In May 2023, Grace was arrested for breaking her parole terms and disregarding a restraining order. After this arrest, she subsequently gave birth to her daughter. This information is reported by The Daily Beast.

Eventually, she received a temporary furlough from prison for the purpose of childbirth. However, she was required to go back afterwards to complete her term.

In the month of April 2024, Grace found herself under arrest in Alabama, following accusations that she had exposed her chest area and lower torso while strolling beside a bustling highway.

Initially, she faced two charges – indecent exposure and hindering government functions. However, as the month progressed, an additional charge of solicitation for prostitution was also brought against her.

According to a private conversation with DailyMail.com, Millbrook’s Police Chief P.K. Johnson stated that Kelley was displaying a sign on the side of the road which asked for a ride, specifically saying “Looking for a Ride.

In the end, the accusation against Kelley for seeking change was dismissed, and the more serious charge of indecent exposure was reduced to a lesser offense, specifically public obscenity.

In a turn of events, her legal troubles didn’t come to an end. On August 3, in rural Georgia, she was apprehended by the police and indicted for misdemeanors such as attempting to evade a police officer, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and improper use of motorcycle gear, according to records from the Carroll County Jail.

In rural Virginia, she faced accusations for stealing a pastor’s vehicle, despite the fact that he climbed into a different car and tried to block her path in an attempt to halt her unauthorized drive.

In my own words as a lifestyle expert, I’d say something like: “Eventually, authorities apprehended her, and she reportedly confided in them that she believed she had made a pact with the devil.

According to police, she later tested positive for heroin use that evening.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an intriguing piece of information I came across recently. Living 20 miles away from the nearest town in a serene rural setting, I found myself engrossed in a peculiar situation. I was watching my son’s ballgame one day when I had a strong suspicion that someone may have slipped into my trailer unnoticed. This individual, whom I believe to be Kelley, decided to tag along on our journey back home afterwards.

He mentioned that he discovered a bag and some shoes, which he thought were hers, in the trailer later on. This discovery strengthened his suspicions.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Kelley has prior records dating back several years, including charges for manufacturing methamphetamines, eluding law enforcement, and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
