Wynonna Earp will return for one last hurrah on Tubi on September 13
As a gamer with a soft spot for unconventional and heartfelt stories, I’ve always found myself drawn to shows like Wynonna Earp. Although it never reached mainstream popularity, its dedicated fanbase has kept the flame alive, and I can see why. The combination of action, wit, and emotional depth was truly unique, and it’s a shame that it didn’t get more recognition.
Wynonna Earp is a series that may not have attracted a massive audience, but it boasted an incredibly loyal fanbase throughout its entire duration. Equipped with her unique firearm named Peacemaker, Wynonna’s mission has been to send evil spirits known as revenants back to the underworld. Over four seasons on Syfy, she battled these entities, yet there remains unfinished business for her character. The conclusion of this story unfolds in the 90-minute special Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, set to premiere on Tubi this Friday, September 13th. Keep an eye out for it! Check out the trailer below:
Emily Andras hinted to Entertainment Weekly that “the past may not be too distant, and some of it could be seeking retribution, in a figurative sense,” subtly using vivid expressions. She added that the special maintains the emotional depth, humor, and high-octane sequences that have always been hallmarks of the series. The cast’s performance is as exceptional as ever, promising a rollercoaster of emotions – tears, laughter, and perhaps even a touch of nausea. In essence, it’s the most “Earping” at its most intense yet.
Actress Melanie Scrofano, too, shared her thoughts. She had always felt that the series wasn’t really finished, so this special is a cherished reunion for her. Interestingly enough, since the story takes place in Wynonna’s fictional Canadian hometown of Purgatory, it can be said that she returned to a familiar location. In her own words, “As soon as I donned the jacket and Peacemaker, and was with the team—it’s really the crew and cast that bring out Wynonna in me. We just fell back into it.
Scrofano and Andras hinted at an ominous villain approaching, one that might match the grand finale of Wynonna’s farewell. I wasn’t deeply involved with the show during its original run, but I understand it had dedicated fans, and I hope this special provides the closure they’ve been eagerly anticipating. It’s heartening to see a series given a second opportunity, considering how frequently we hear about shows being terminated prematurely.
Tubi is an excellent choice for those seeking free streaming entertainment, as it doesn’t require any subscription fees. However, there are occasional ad breaks during movies and shows. Let’s hope the ads don’t disrupt your viewing experience too much. Given its low cost, the series “Wynonna Earp: Vengeance” could potentially attract a large audience.
Once more, the spectacular event falls on Friday, September 13. Farewell, Wynonna, your performance was commendable.
