Wynne Evans confirms exciting new business venture after his BBC show was axed and fears he’s ‘split’ from new fiancée Liz Brookes
Wynne Evans has announced a fresh entrepreneurial endeavor following the cancellation of his BBC program, and recent speculations about a potential separation from his fiancée Liz Brookes have arisen.
On a typical Monday, the well-known Welsh opera singer, aged 53 and recognized by many from television, decided to announce on Instagram that he had partnered with a local eatery in his birthplace.
On their Instagram, The Welsh House Carmarthen posted a video featuring Wynne, announcing his partnership role within the business – a move confirmed by him, who was previously known for competing on Strictly Come Dancing.
In the video, Wynne announced that the location would be rechristened as “The Welsh House” by himself, with plans for him to prepare dishes similar to those seen on MasterChef.
Following the cancellation of his BBC Wales radio program, Wynne additionally announced that he would be taking on a fresh hosting role at a restaurant and bar.
With a sense of pride, he shared some news about his hometown: “The Welsh House is undergoing a change and will soon be known as The Welsh House by Wynne!
As a dedicated enthusiast, I assure you that our menu will feature tantalizing dishes reminiscent of MasterChef, accompanied by a heartfelt welcome. I truly invite you to visit us and share this culinary journey together. Agreed?
This place will also host our radio program, so reach out to us for reservations. I look forward to seeing you there soon! By the way, it’s high time I started preparing dinner.
The Welsh House announced with excitement: ‘We’re delighted to introduce Wynne Evans, renowned Welsh opera artist, TV host, and Go.Compare icon, as the latest member of our Carmarthen team!’
‘Enthusiastically rooted in and advocating for Welsh cuisine, beverages, and traditions, Wynne infuses our project with an extraordinary level of enthusiasm and affection for the local community. Exciting developments lie ahead… Welcome to The Welsh House by Wynne!’
The Sun suggests that Wynne is launching the restaurant primarily to take advantage of his victory in the 2023 Celebrity MasterChef competition, and secondarily as a means to divert his attention, given the news about his separation from Liz.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this intriguing tidbit: It seems our beloved figure is venturing into the culinary world, specifically Welsh cuisine, opening a restaurant. The aim, as a trusted insider has revealed to the press, appears to be a strategic diversion from the recent separation with Liz. Quite fascinating, isn’t it?
‘He paid the Welsh House to take over their existing space.’
‘He is trying to capitalise on his MasterChef win apparently,’ they added.

In addition to his recent employment, Wynne isn’t pursuing a new part-time venture; instead, he’s functioning as an Airbnb host by renting out a property situated in Llansteffan, which lies approximately eight miles from his native town.
TopMob has contacted Wynne’s representatives for comment.
Lately, Wynne has caused concern about a potential breakup with his new partner Liz, as he removed their engagement post on Instagram and stopped following her account.
TopMob disclosed that Liz has stopped following Wynne, who recently put forward a proposal to the head of the events company just last month.
During a heartfelt vacation in Morocco, he knelt down to propose, capturing the momentous occasion and sharing glimpses of his proposal and Liz’s sparkling ring on Instagram.
He wrote: ‘Big news… I got engaged!
This past weekend, nestled among the Moroccan landscapes filled with couscous, camels, and myself stumbling through the markets without a sense of direction, I asked Liz for her hand in marriage. To my delight, she graciously accepted! (I’ve double-checked, no take-backs allowed.)
‘She’s clever, she’s kind, she’s got excellent taste in men.

I’m completely baffled as to how I managed it, but look at us now! Overflowing with joy, gratitude, and a hint of pride.
Yet, strangely, the photo is no longer visible on his profile, nor are there any references to his fiancée, previously present.
Previously, Wynne was wedded to Tanwen for seven years; she is the mom of his two children. However, their marriage ended in 2016.
In 2024, Wynne and Liz encountered each other just prior to his participation in the BBC1 dance program. Notably, Liz frequently attended the live performances of the show.
It is thought that Liz, who runs an event management company, crossed paths with Wynne at a business gathering she arranged, as Wynne had been engaged to provide entertainment for the occasion.
Furthermore, Wynne acknowledged Liz’s assistance during a challenging phase in his professional journey, as he was let go by the BBC due to a contentious remark uttered during the Strictly Come Dancing live tour in January.
Following the cancellation of his BBC Wales program, Wynne revealed his intention to debut a fresh radio broadcast – a fact he’s since verified will be recorded at The Welsh House.
In May, he announced on Instagram that “The Wynne Evans Show will resume, airing live daily from 9am – 12pm on a fresh app, compatible with Alexa and Google devices (no need to mention ‘smart speakers’ anymore!), and at www.wynneevansshow.co.uk.

‘Our next journey is upon us, and I can’t think of anyone I’d rather share it with. We’ll groove to amazing tunes, tackle my daily question, unravel the mystery voice, listen to your captivating stories, and so much more, as we reunite once more.’
The broadcast of Wynne’s show came to an end following revelations that he made suggestive comments during the Strictly Live Tour and was involved in an inappropriate incident with his dance partner Katya Jones. It appeared that she may have moved his hand away from her lower waist on the show.
Following an examination into his behavior by the BBC, it was determined that they would not extend his radio contract for his program.
In the end, it became clear that the travelogue series he did with Joanna Page got terminated following only a single season.
The show initially aired in February and March of this year, but it was put on hold when Wynne was removed from the Strictly tour. Later, it reappeared on our screens.
A source shared with The Sun: ‘After the initial series was postponed, there was constant uncertainty about the possibility of a follow-up.’
‘Only now has the BBC publicly confirmed it won’t be returning.
This implies that Wynne doesn’t have a TV or radio program with the BBC anymore, which essentially signals the conclusion of their association.

In my role as a devoted admirer, I embarked on an extraordinary six-part journey, where alongside Wynne and the illustrious Joanna from Gavin & Stacey, I navigated breathtaking maritime escapades along the enchanting Welsh coastline.
A spokesperson for the BBC said: ‘There are no plans for a second series.’
Last weekend, The Mail on Sunday disclosed that the BBC had received a total of seven complaints from women regarding the behavior of Wynne Evans towards them.
The disclosures emerged a few days following Wynne’s statement on ITV’s This Morning, where he expressed that no accusations were leveled against him.
He told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: ‘There has never been any complaints about me. Ever!’
Between July 2023 and August 2024, BBC Wales staff brought up seven distinct issues, one of which occurred following Wynne being invited to participate in last year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but ponder over four criticisms that surfaced prior to his entry into Strictly. This has led me to wonder about the reasoning behind the dance show’s creators deciding to bring him on board.
Three more were made after he had been chosen for the show.
In January, a report detailing his conduct was compiled in preparation for a disciplinary proceeding, which he claimed he couldn’t attend due to mental health concerns.
