WWE Survivor Series 2024 Predictions: Goldberg Will REPLACE Damian Priest

WWE Survivor Series 2024 Predictions: Goldberg Will REPLACE Damian Priest

As a seasoned wrestling enthusiast with over two decades of watching these grappling giants entertain us, I must admit that the upcoming matches at Survivor Series have certainly piqued my interest. The Women’s War Games, for instance, seems like an intriguing blend of old rivalries and new alliances, though I wish they had given it a more substantial build-up.

2024’s WWE Survivor Series, happening in just two weeks on Saturday at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is shaping up to be a spectacle. Already confirmed for the main event are the Bloodline Civil War War Games Match and a World Heavyweight Championship bout between Gunther and Damian Priest. It’s speculated that WWE might also include the teased Women’s War Games Match and a WWE Championship battle between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. Despite some contrived elements in this year’s War Games, the matches promise to be thrilling and chaotic spectacles.

Now moving on, let’s delve into our eagerly awaited Survivor Series 2024 Forecasts! Instead of Damian Priest, it is Goldberg who will step in for the event. (WWE Survivor Series 2024)

Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest [World Heavyweight Championship]

Next up for SummerSlam, it appears Gunther and Damian Priest are primed for another faceoff. Booking strategies suggest Gunther will hold onto his title following their bout, as a means to regain momentum after his defeat against Cody Rhodes in the champion vs. champion match at Crown Jewel. Priest secured this opportunity by winning a four-way on Raw against Seth Rollins, Dirty Dom, and Sheamus. However, Gunther’s controversial remarks about Goldberg during Bad Blood in October have sparked speculation that this showdown is imminent. WWE wouldn’t hint at such tension if the match wasn’t destined to unfold.

At Judgment Day, instead of having another predictable bout between Gunther and Damian Priest on a major pay-per-view like Survivor Series, they’ll orchestrate a shocking backstage assault on Damian Priest. This will pave the way for Goldberg’s grand comeback to the PPV he made his return to in 2016, stepping in for Damian Priest, and challenging Gunther for the World Title. Goldberg won’t undermine Gunther, as that would be unfairly detrimental to the future of professional wrestling. Instead, he’ll elevate Gunther by securing a historic win over a Hall of Famer, which could help him emerge from the slump following his loss to Cody.

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens [WWE Championship]

I, as a dedicated fan, can’t help but feel frustrated with Cody Rhodes for aligning himself with Roman Reigns against The Bloodline at Bad Blood. After all, Roman has been manipulating everyone around him and making life miserable for the past three years, turning his reign into a terror no one wants to be part of.

Regardless of how justified KO may seem in his wrestling exploits as a heel, it’s expected that Cody will keep the WWE Title during their match in Canada because Cody needs to avenge what KO did to Randy. KO took advantage of Randy’s injured back and essentially left him paralyzed, causing him to be hospitalized. Randy has been a guide for Cody, making him a significant figure in Cody’s life. Despite his diplomatic nature, Cody cannot overlook this incident. In fact, Randy might make a comeback from injury and interfere maliciously against KO to help Cody win. This would provide KO with a soft landing for his heel turn, ensuring that he doesn’t lose face in defeat.

LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura [U.S. Championship]

On SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura made his comeback as a villain, attacking LA Knight. This suggests that they might compete for the title at Survivor Series. Although it seems plausible for Nakamura to defeat LA Knight and claim the championship, there hasn’t been any narrative reason given for Nakamura’s attack on Knight. Before his disappearance, Nakamura was deeply embroiled in a significant feud with Cody Rhodes, making it questionable why Knight’s title reign would end this way. It appears that Nakamura is being used as an interim opponent to prolong Knight’s championship run until WrestleMania.

Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus [IC Championship]

Bron Breakker and Sheamus have been locked in a rivalry on both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. Their upcoming match on Raw has been spoiled as a no-contest, suggesting they may face off again here. Sheamus has never held the Intercontinental Championship, which he covets to complete his Grand Slam. Given Sheamus’ consistent work ethic, he seems like an ideal fit for this title. However, since Breakker recently reclaimed the Intercontinental Title from Jey Uso, it appears more likely that he will hold onto it until WrestleMania.

Team Ripley vs. Team Morgan [Women’s War Games]

Team Ripley features Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Naomi, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill. Simultaneously, Team Morgan includes Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Candice LeRae, and Ms. MITB Tiffany Stratton. The central theme of this War Games contest appears to revolve around the rivalry between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, with other ongoing SmackDown feuds serving as supporting elements. Unfortunately, the build-up for this match could have been stronger; however, the participating wrestlers are exceptionally skilled and are expected to deliver a ring performance that fans will not soon forget.

Despite it being unusual that Liv and Nia were once adversaries but now team up, Team Morgan is still expected to triumph at the War Games Match. This is because Iyo Sky has already secured a title match against Liv, and Bianca Belair previously pinned Liv in their tag team championship bout on Raw. With such opponents waiting for her on the path to Mania, Liv doesn’t need another defeat as World Champion to solidify more contenders. In the meantime, Ripley is likely to reconnect with Liv by winning the Elimination Chamber in 2025. Given that both world champions are part of Team Morgan, it’s essential for them to present a strong image here.

It’s intriguing to consider whether Tiffany Stratton could take advantage of either world champions in the War Games Match itself. However, given that she’s focused on the Women’s U.S. Title Tournament at the moment, it seems a Money in the Bank cash-in might not be imminent.

OG Bloodline vs. New Bloodline [Men’s War Games]

The original Bloodline comprises of: Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Seth Rollins. The New Bloodline consists of: Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa, and Bronson Reed. It’s surprising how Jey, Sami, Jimmy, and Seth might compromise their principles to support Roman. Despite Jey stating that he won’t join forces with Roman unless they are equals, Roman continues to make disrespectful comments towards him as if he is still a subordinate. Sami made it clear that he wouldn’t assist Roman until an apology was given for manipulating him in the past, but it seems that no such apology has been offered.

Jimmy harbored jealousy towards Jey, as he won five singles title matches against him out of a desire to prevent his brother from becoming arrogant like Roman Reigns and transforming into a monster. However, after this, he quickly aligned himself with Reigns anyway. In an unexpected turn of events, Seth Rollins betrayed Roman Reigns by attacking him with a steel chair during their time in the Shield a decade ago to pave his own way. Despite this, when Reigns became champion, Rollins was still relegated to the position of second-in-command, and they are planning to reunite at Survivor Series, which marks the 10-year anniversary of their group, to seek revenge on Reed.

Despite the chaotic state of the War Games Team, it seems highly probable that the OG Bloodline Team will emerge victorious due to Roman Wins LOL, but Roman needs a stern lesson. The world should come crashing down on him so he understands that he cannot control everyone when he’s in a vulnerable position.
