WWE star Nia Jax has revealed how she lost over 100lbs in the past three years.
The former WWE Women’s Champion, 41, previously tipped the scales at more than 270lbs.
She’s lost weight by taking up cardio and pickleball, but she credits a stronger connection to her Christian faith as a major part of her transformation.
Jax shared with Chris Van Vliet of Insight that she found pickleball to be a fun way to lose weight. When she grew tired of traditional cardio, she’d spend hours playing with her church group.
She added, ‘We’d go at like 7:00 a.m. until noon and it was so much fun.’
The wrestler, related to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as a second cousin, has begun training alongside WWE star Maxxine Dupri.
Jax described her as incredibly fit and said she excels at Pilates. He’s taken one of her classes and found it very challenging, but in a good way – it really pushed him.
Jax didn’t share details about her weight loss journey, but she did say her Christian faith has helped her become healthier.
‘I had a real breakthrough when I was off. I got really close with my faith,’ she shared.
I began attending church and focusing more on my spiritual side, which really helped me find my current direction. Now I feel strong and determined, and nothing can shake my resolve.
Jax had mentioned in a 2017 Instagram post that some fellow WWE wrestlers had made negative comments about her body.
The actress shared a video of herself working out and explained that she’s used to receiving negative comments about her body, something that often happens in her profession and on social media.
It’s incredibly upsetting to experience body shaming, especially when it happens in a private setting with people you trust. I’m a healthy, confident woman who loves her body, and it’s wrong for anyone to shame another person for how they look.
To anyone struggling with body image, no matter your size or shape, please don’t let anyone make you feel ashamed of your beautiful body!
Wrestling fans are happy with Jax’s new appearance, and many are applauding her for prioritizing her health by losing weight.
‘The weight loss looks good. Kudos to her,’ commented one fan.
Someone else praised her for crediting her faith with helping her lose weight, saying it inspired them to focus on both their physical and spiritual well-being.
The WWE star, known as ‘The Irresistible Force’, is showing off her new, slimmer physique on social media.
Jax began her career with WWE in 2014, starting with a developmental contract in NXT.
She made her main roster debut in 2016, and won the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 34.
Jax is also a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and won the 2024 Queen of the Ring tournament.
