WWE missed an opportunity for Chad Gable vs Otis

As a longtime WWE fan with years of experience watching and analyzing their storylines, I can’t help but feel disappointed by the missed opportunity between Chad Gable and Otis in the latest episode of Raw. For weeks, we’ve witnessed the tension between these two former friends, with Otis standing in the way of Gable’s anger towards Akira Tozawa and Macey Dupri. The fans were on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the moment when Otis would finally give in to his rage and attack Gable.

In the recent installment of WWE Raw, Chad Gable summoned The Creed Brothers to assault Bo Dallas. Will this strategy benefit Gable? The outcome remains uncertain. However, if it had been Gable versus Otis instead, WWE would have seized an opportunity for a significant moment between these two characters. The audience was eagerly anticipating this clash, but unfortunately, it didn’t materialize, potentially hindering the growth of Gable’s character momentum.

For several weeks, Otis obstructed Gable from unleashing his rage on Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri. Fans grew excited each time it seemed Otis would knock out Gable. But that pivotal moment never materialized. Instead, all they witnessed was Otis shoving Gable to the ground one week and warning him that the family situation had reached its end. Now, Gable has advanced past this hurdle and Otis is no longer a focus.

I’ve gone a whole month without seeing Otis in action, and it feels like all that progress has been sapped away. The potential tale between Gable and Otis could have captivated audiences for weeks, culminating in an epic showdown on WWE Raw. Their genuine friendship should have served as the basis for this narrative. Picture Gable using their real-life bond to taunt Otis in front of a roaring crowd, stoking the flames for their feud. The possibilities for compelling storytelling between these two men are endless, and it’s exactly the kind of intriguing content WWE could use to keep viewers engaged outside the title scene.

Could Gable have passed muster with you? Certainly, but the significance of that instant lay in fostering the nascent attraction towards Otis. This has transpired at least once previously. In the narrative where Mandy Rose took center stage, Otis made an appearance, yet he was dismissed as a mere distraction. Even his triumph in the Money in the Bank match was met with derision.

Providing a grand development and climax for Otis versus Gable doesn’t necessarily mean that Otis is in line for a major, prolonged promotional boost. However, it would keep fans engaged with his narrative. Simultaneously, having Dupri and Tozawa as companions would also increase their popularity.

WWE focuses on narrating tales using professional wrestling. Sadly, WWE missed a chance to create an engaging story between Chad Gable and Otis. It’s possible they could revisit this, but the excitement from just a few weeks ago has faded, and there’s no certainty that fans will respond similarly again.
