WWE does not need Hulk Hogan

WWE has historically used legendary figures to boost ratings and ignite fan enthusiasm. Occasionally, they would emerge from obscurity to remind casual fans that this was where their cherished heroes were made. However, by the year 2025, WWE might not require some of those beloved characters anymore. Leading the departure from professional wrestling is Hulk Hogan. He’s no longer indispensable in the world of wrestling.

According to Fightful Select’s report on January 4th, it’s possible that Hogan might make some future appearances within the WWE.

According to our sources, there have been talks about Hulk Hogan making appearances with the company in the future. However, we don’t yet know when these appearances might take place.

Based on the information from the report, it appears that “Hogan’s Real American Beer” could become a sponsor on WWE events. Such a partnership would be significant for the company in terms of advertising and sponsorship deals. Hulk Hogan last appeared on WWE television in January 2024 during the Hulkamania celebration, and in 2023 for the 30-year anniversary of Monday Night Raw.

As a passionate fan, I believe that professional wrestling should be more selective about who they allow to represent the sport. It’s not just about the performers who struggle with their characters on screen, but those whose actions off camera tarnish their image and reflect poorly on the industry.

Take Hulk Hogan as an example. Despite his iconic status, he made a series of missteps that make it hard to welcome him back as we enter a new era. He was open about his overt racism in the past and never fully apologized for it. Worse still, he has since embraced right-wing extremism in the most problematic ways possible. This is not the kind of behavior we should tolerate or celebrate in our beloved sport.

In simpler terms, professional wrestling is a field where individuals of all backgrounds are welcome. It’s intended to be an enjoyable experience for everyone. However, it’s troubling and unnecessary for the WWE to support someone who openly disrespects certain groups.

WWE might choose not to reintroduce Hulk Hogan, as he is no longer the figure who ignited millions to mimic his actions of removing their shirts and taking supplements. In truth, that persona may not have truly represented him in his earlier days either. It’s high time professional wrestling makes a more concerted effort to distance itself from fallen idols like Hogan and others, aiming for a more authentic and progressive image.
