In their chat, Aaron Keller and popular U.S. streamer Jay3 Pavloff primarily discussed the escalating competition between Overwatch 2 and Marvel’s new multiplayer game, Marvel Rivals.
As an enthusiastic supporter, I’d like to share that Keller has underscored the fact that the forthcoming enhancements aren’t a direct response to Marvel Rivals. Instead, he’s emphasized that several key components, like the Stadium, perks system, game bans, and other substantial improvements, have been meticulously crafted over a period of more than a year. While he acknowledges that competition can foster growth, he’s unequivocally stated that these updates represent strategic long-term planning rather than a reactive move.

Keller shared that the Overwatch 2 team will revisit its storyline. After scrapping major PvE plans scheduled for release this year, the team had to start anew and temporarily step back in order to progress again. Their aim is to return with captivating animated short stories, which Keller considers crucial for the game’s development.

Concerning recent developments, Keller discussed the potential comeback of the Looking For Group (LFG) feature, following a surge of community interest. In terms of Season 18, Keller hinted that it will be a significant season with things escalating, emphasizing substantial advancements in “cutting-edge gameplay systems” and grander plans for the game and its world in the upcoming year.
