Whimpering Wastes Dates and Requirements

To venture into the desolate expanse known as the Whimpering Wastes within Wuthering Waves, players need to fulfill certain requirements. First, make sure you’ve advanced your Union to Level 30. Then, work your way through the main storyline to unlock the Rinascita region.

In Rinascita, finish the quest titled “Ocean is a Soul’s Rest” by conversing with Levito. This initial encounter will lead you into the Whimpering Wastes mode. This mode consists of stages that undergo periodic resets, such as the “Respawning Waters” stages which are scheduled to reset on March 17, 2025.

Tokens Overview

When you join a competition, it’s important to assign a special Symbol for both of your teams. These Symbols grant unique advantages that can greatly impact the results of a round. Some Symbols can be used repeatedly, while others come with a set limit, making careful distribution crucial.

Particularly in Stage 12 named “Infinite Torrents”, the usage of each Token is permissible without depletion, providing a chance for unlimited exploration and testing.

Token List and Acquisition

Here’s a breakdown of all the Tokens I can use, their powers, how many times I can use them, and the ways I can get hold of them:

1. Token A: Boosts my damage output by 50% for 3 turns. Can be used once per battle. Acquired through completing special quests or purchased with in-game currency.

2. Token B: Heals me for a significant amount and also revives one fallen ally. Usable only once per battle. Earned by defeating powerful enemies or obtained as rewards for achievements.

3. Token C: Summons an ally to fight alongside me for the next three turns. Can be used twice during a single battle. Obtained through daily login bonuses or limited-time events.

4. Token D: Doubles my experience points gained from defeating enemies for the next five battles. Usable once per day. Granted as a reward for reaching new levels.

5. Token E: Slows down the enemy’s turn meter, giving me more time to act. Can be used three times during a single battle. Acquired through daily missions or by purchasing with premium currency.

Complete Guide to Conquering Whimpering Wastes

In the game mode known as “Whimpering Wastes,” one of the toughest additions to Wuthering Waves, you’ll need strategic thinking, pinpoint accuracy in execution, and a thorough grasp of tokens, resonators, and enemy types. Stages 9, 10, and 11 are often seen as the most difficult before “Infinite Torrents,” but smart resource management and well-planned team compositions can help you achieve high scores and maximize rewards. Here are some essential tips and strategies to guide you through each stage effectively.

1. Save Your Best Tokens for the Hardest Stages

In the challenging terrain of Whimpering Wastes, the Golden Tokens and the Plunderer Captain’s Seal are some of the most potent boosters. As stages 9, 10, and 11 become notably tougher than their predecessors, it’s wise to store these powerful bonuses until they can make a decisive impact. The Plunderer Captain’s Seal is exceptionally effective in Infinite Mode, making it much simpler to earn an S rank.

2. Use Infinite Tokens Freely in Stages 1-11

Although it may seem wise to save up your Tokens, using them freely in Stages 1-11 is actually beneficial due to Infinite Mode’s ability to provide limitless uses of all Tokens. There’s no need to ration your Tokens; instead, feel free to use them generously for the most efficient clearing of the stages.

3. Proper Team Building is Key

To collect all the rewards, it’s not mandatory to secure S-rank scores across all stages. Instead, a wise approach is to create well-balanced teams that emphasize survivability. An effective strategy would be to ensure each team has at least one healer and concentrate on Resonators with area-of-effect (AoE) and burst abilities for optimal results.

4. Consider Enemy Types in Each Stage

In some stages, Global RES reduces the effectiveness of specific damage types. But remember not to solely depend on this data; also take into account the specific enemies you’ll encounter. For instance:

When fighting in certain stages, damage types may be less effective due to Global RES. However, don’t rely solely on this information. Be sure to consider the types of enemies you’ll face. For example:

  • Stage 9 (First Half) has Glacio RES, but it also features many Spectro enemies. This makes Carlotta and Jinhsi poor choices, as they will struggle against them.

Always check the Environment Report and adjust your Resonators accordingly.

5. Grouping Enemies is Crucial for Fast Clears

In the early stages, you’ll often encounter groups of around 10 to 20 white mobs. These can be easily handled by massive area-of-effect attacks or strategic grouping tactics. Once these initial groups are swiftly taken care of, the more challenging elite mobs will appear in closer proximity, making them simpler to manage.

  • Best AoE Resonators: Calcharo, Encore, Yinlin, Taoqi
  • Best Crowd Control: Jianxin, Verina (for heals and grouping)

6. Don’t Stress Over S-Ranking Everything

If you’re trying to get all the prizes, it’s not necessary to achieve an S-rank in every single stage. Achieving a Grade A on Stage 10, for instance, is sufficient to unlock everything. Instead of striving for perfection, focus more on consistently passing stages.
