Wuthering Waves has revealed details about its upcoming version 2.7 update. Following the current version 2.6, the developers have announced the release date and previewed the new content. They shared everything players can expect in a livestream recently.

Let’s quickly review what changed in the recent 2.6 update. Now that it’s live, I hope you’re enjoying the new features!

Yesterday’s broadcast gave us a sneak peek at what’s coming in the next update, including two new Resonators, a new main story quest, and features called Echoes and Convenes. The update will also include various optimizations to improve performance. It will be released on all platforms on October 9th, 2025 (UTC+8).

New Resonators and Resonator Convene will be available

Whenever the game gets updated, players are always eager to see what new resonators are added. This update will include two new ones.

  • Galbrena
  • Qiuyuan

Update 2.7 will also introduce two new phases of resonators. Here’s what’s coming up:

Resonator Convene Phase I

  • From Ashes
  • Roar of Triumph

Resonator Convene Phase II

  • Wanderer Knows No Far and Near
  • Between Light and Shadow

Wuthering Waves Version 2.7 Update brings new Main Quests

So, alongside the resonators, we’re getting some brand new main quests! And good news – this time around, it’s not just one like the last update, we’re actually getting an extra one. Here’s what’s coming up quest-wise:

  • Chapter II Act X – The Bygone Shall Always Return
  • Chapter II Act XI – Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides
  • Afterstory – A Stranger in a Strange Land

WuWa Version 2.7 Update brings new Weapons, Echoes, and Sonata Effect

In addition to new characters, the game will introduce two new weapons. These weapons are designed to fit the game’s overall style and will offer unique abilities and effects.

New Weapons

Players will soon have access to two powerful new five-star weapons that will significantly boost their abilities.

  • Emerald Sentence

New Echoes

As a big fan, I’m excited to share that there are some new echoes coming! It’s not a huge update, but these echoes will definitely be useful when we’re playing. Let me show you what’s been added in the latest version – here’s a rundown of the new echoes!

  • Nightmare: Baby Viridblaze Saurian

Sonata Effects

Sonata Effects are the set bonuses in Wuthering Waves and provide a variety of useful stat bonuses.

  • Flamewing’s Shadow – 3pcs Set: Dealing Echo Skill DMG increases Heavy Attack Crit. Rate by 20% for 6s. Dealing Heavy Attack DMG increases Echo Skill Crit. Rate by 20% for 6s. While both effects are active, gain 16% Fusion DMG Bonus.

New Event arriving with WuWa Version 2.7 Update

Optimizations coming with the Wuthering Waves Version 2.7 update

The WuWa 2.7 update includes more than just new content – it also features several improvements designed to make playing the game even better. Here are some of the highlights:

Resonator Ascension Planner

Version 2.7 will introduce the Resonator Ascension Planner, a new tool found in the Resonator menu. It’s divided into four parts – Resonator, Weapon, Echo, and Skill – and will automatically create customized progression plans for each of your Resonators, tailored to your current SOL3 Phase.

Better Quest Experience

We’re adding a “Journey Log” to the Quest system. This new feature lets you see all your Main Quests organized into chapters and acts. We plan to include other types of quests in the Journey Log in future updates.

UI Upgrade & New Features

  • The event menu will be upgraded; Events will be divided into three categories: Featured Events, Recurring Events, and Permanent Events, for ease of access. A new summary panel for Recurring Events will be added to the map, where you’ll be able to get reminders for these events and track your current progress.
  • The Gallery will include a new category: Enemies. You can view detailed information on all the enemies you’ve defeated on your journey
  •  The “Terminal Swap” feature will also be added. Upon completing Version 2.7’s Main Quests, you can obtain a new Terminal, “Daylight Flintstone.” You can then switch between Terminals.

Environmental Interactions

  • Global Filter will be made available across all platforms in Version 2.7. (Mobile users can try out this feature when it becomes available in Version 2.7.)
  • The “Eye Comfort” option will be added to the Settings menu. By clicking into the “Eye Comfort” settings, you can customize color temperature, brightness, intensity, and other parameters.
  • Additionally, in Version 2.7, the interactive effects and details are further refined; more Resonators and skills can interact with the environment, making exploration more immersive.

New collaboration and merchandise dealing

We’ve got some exciting partnerships and merchandise on the way, plus the game will include a variety of gorgeous outfits!
