The widely-appreciated action RPG, Wuthering Waves by Kuro Games, boasts stunning character designs. Lately, it appears that an unannounced censorship has been implemented as part of a minor update. Adjustments were made to the undergarment designs of certain limited-time characters and weekly Bosses, with no communication from Kuro Games regarding these changes.
Wuthering Waves has altered the outfit of its new banner character, making it less revealing
As a devoted fan, I’m quite taken aback by an unexpected twist in Wuthering Waves. Despite being rated 16+ on the Play Store, which typically implies freedom for adult content like nudity, it seems there has been character censorship in the game. This unexpected move contradicts what many players, including myself, had anticipated – a deeper dive into mature designs.
Wuthering Waves got hit with a wave of censorship today. Both an already released limited character and a weekly boss were changed. Kuro made no announcements regarding this.

In the Version 2.2 update, the character design of Cantarella, the latest 5-star Havoc Resonator, is primarily altered. Famous for her striking appearance, changes have been made to her outfit, particularly to her undergarments, which were previously more exposing with a high-cut style.
Apart from her, the character Fleurdelys from Boss comics was also modified in a similar way. Now, she sports additional undergarments, which were not present in her initial design. However, it’s important to note that Kuro Games has yet to make an official statement about these changes.

This unexpected and unsolicited form of content moderation has left fans taken aback, with some expressing dissatisfaction over its negative impact on the game’s aesthetics, labeling it as a sloppy move. Others suspect that this change is due to external influence from the Chinese Communist Party. To my eyes, it seems like an endeavor to reclassify the game from its current 16+ rating down to a more family-friendly 12+ rating.
