The release date of the Wuthering Waves 1.2 update is August 15th, 2024.

Typically, Kuro Games will have a “system update” period where they apply fresh changes to Wuthering Waves. During this maintenance phase, players won’t be able to play the game. On August 15th, this maintenance is scheduled from 06:00 (UTC+8) to 13:00 (UTC+8), lasting for a total of 7 hours.

New Resonator: Zhezhi

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to introduce myself – Zhezhi, a top-tier Glacio character. My weapon of choice is the Rectifier, and while my spell kit remains a secret for now, Kuro Games has hinted that I blend my artistic talents with my combat abilities. In the upcoming 1.2 update, I’ll be making my debut as the first-phase character. My banner, or convene, is named “Chromatic Prose” and features Chixia, Baizhi, and Sanhua as rank-up Resonators. Her signature weapon is the “Five-Star Frost-Embellished Seeds”. With her weapon banner, Zhezhi can elevate these other four-star weapons: Midnight’s Valor, Guardian of Jin City, and Phantom Mirror.

New Resonator: Xiangli Yao

Coming up next is Xiangli Yao, an impressive 5-star Electro Support character who wields Gauntlet weapons. The specific details about his spell kit are still under wraps, but his appearance and skills suggest a strong sci-fi influence, with his cyborg-like gear and advanced digital knowledge on full display.

Zhezhi will embark on a personal journey titled “True Colors,” which serves as her unique Companion Quest. During this adventure, you’ll have the opportunity to delve deeper into the background, character, and battle techniques of our new Resonator.

New events in the Wuthering Waves 1.2 update

1. The highly anticipated update event for Wuthering Waves 1.2 is called By Moon’s Grace, where players will unite to enjoy the Moon-Chase Festival within Huanglong. In the latter part of version 1.2, you can also engage in the “By Moon’s Grace” event and accumulate sufficient popularity points to secure Xiangli Yao free of charge!

This is a 7-day login event that rewards you with a total of 5 Radiant Tides and 5 Lustrous Tides.

In this event, Encore takes center stage as you work together with her to protect towers against Tacet Discords. This event offers a fun and challenging experience when played cooperatively with friends. Successfully completing the event can bring you numerous rewards such as Astrites and Premium Sealed Tubes.

In an upcoming update, you’ll find a fresh take on the Illusive Realm, complete with novel obstacles and enticing rewards. The latest addition is called “Carnival in Slumberland,” offering unique content. You’ll have the option to choose between two new characters: Phantom Echo: Dreamless and Phantom Echo: Metaphors.

The second iteration of the competitive event is back, featuring fresh obstacles and incentives. Visit a unique Sonoro Sphere and engage in battles for prizes such as Premium Resonance Potions and Astrites.

As a gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can wholeheartedly say that events like this one are a breath of fresh air for returning players. Having taken a break from a game for a month or more, it’s always heartening to find such warm welcomes and incentives upon our return. The daily check-in rewards and tasks not only make the process of getting back into the groove smoother but also provide an added sense of accomplishment. I personally find these types of events to be a fantastic way for game developers to engage their players, foster a sense of community, and ultimately retain them in the long run.

QoL changes

In some situations, it can be challenging for players without a marksman on their team to carry out tasks that involve shooting. However, with the introduction of the Hoverdroid, there’s no need to exchange your Resonators anymore when tackling shooting-based missions.

An additional camera feature has been introduced to enhance the quality of your gaming experiences, particularly during fights and competitions.

PC players can now play Wuthering Waves 1.2 at a whopping 120 FPS!

In the upcoming version 1.2 of Wuthering Waves, a novel waveplate storage system is set to arrive! Once you’ve hit the maximum capacity of 240 waveplates, you’ll start producing 12 waveplate crystals every minute. Later on, these crystals can be swapped for more waveplates.
