We mentioned earlier that there were issues at Wuchang’s Fallen Feathers developer, Leenzee, and now we have more information about what caused them.
According to GamerSky, the game’s producer and director, Xia Siyuan, left the project because they disagreed with plans to outsource work or focus on different games. Other team members also protested these changes, ultimately leading to the team being disbanded.
Since the game hasn’t been updated recently, the developers leaving could signal its end, especially as it was a well-made Soulslike game. The developer hasn’t commented on this or on rumors about planned updates that were reportedly being developed before their departure.
It’s disappointing that it doesn’t look like there will be any new content for Fallen Feathers. We were hoping to continue the story with Wuchang, but unfortunately, that doesn’t seem likely. While it’s possible Leenzee might bring in a new team to create downloadable content or expansions, we’re not expecting it, especially since the game didn’t sell as well as hoped. It will be interesting to see how Leenzee handles this, but their lack of communication so far isn’t a good sign.
