At the Met Gala 2025, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrities extended the fashion beyond clothing to their choice of timepieces, making powerful statements. Here’s a peek into the watch trends on the blue carpet, highlighting standout watches that ranged from understated elegance to bold and lavish designs. These watches often enhanced the tailored outfits, providing a unique personal touch to the interpretations of Black dandyism. Many stars chose watches adorned with intricate details, precious materials, and stunning embellishments.

To begin, A$AP Rocky, one of the co-chairs, made a striking appearance with the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC, a mechanical watch recognized as the world’s thinnest at just 1.70mm thick. The watch’s streamlined design and technical finesse harmonized beautifully with his sharp tailoring. Pusha T opted for a Louis Vuitton custom suit, accessorizing it with the sought-after Rolex “Rainbow” Daytona Cosmograph in its rose gold case and bracelet embellished with diamonds, and featuring the iconic rainbow sapphire bezel. Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan showcased an impressive watch collection with a Patek Philippe Grand Complication Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5304/301R. This incredibly rare and intricate timepiece is worth over $1.5 million USD.

This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre watches were a hit among attendees, with Jeremy Allen White from “The Bear” sporting the timeless Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in a rose gold case, while Usher donned the Reverso One Duetto boasting 335 diamonds. Jeff Goldblum sparkled in the Jacob & Co. Slender Ashoka, and Maluma made an impression with the Jacob & Co. Emerald Billionaire III, boasting an impressive 76 emerald-cut emeralds on both the case and bracelet. Jon Batiste turned heads with his eye-catching Cartier Panthère de Cartier Zebree, a bold watch featuring a rose gold case and bracelet set with diamonds and spessartite gemstones, accented by black and golden-brown lacquer stripes. Shaboozey’s Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch was also noteworthy, as it paired perfectly with his turquoise dial that mirrored the turquoise beading on his black collared tank top and even complemented his custom grills.
