David Tennant hasn’t definitively said no to reprising his role in Doctor Who. In an interview on the popular podcast Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, he mentioned that a return might be possible depending on the specific conditions involved.
A few years ago, I filmed three episodes consecutively, and it was a delightful experience as I got to rejoin the team temporarily,” Tennant shared, looking back on his past work.
He added, “I did a show featuring Matt Smith, which turned out to be quite enjoyable. We truly had a wonderful time during the production.

Although Tennant fondly recalls his time on the set, it seems he doesn’t have any upcoming appearances in the Whoniverse. He told Deadline in April that the show continues to evolve and find fresh storytelling methods, but for now, he won’t be a part of this revival.
Rather than that, the prominent Scottish actor is currently engaged in the second season of “Rivals,” where he has been filmed throughout the summer.

In the realm known as the Whoniverse, there’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the sixteenth Doctor. This is following the departure of Ncuti Gatwa, who played the role previously. His time as the Time Lord has come to an end and he’s now regenerating into the beloved Billie Piper.
Speaking about it, Piper openly admitted that her affection for this series is well-known, and she’s expressed before that if given the opportunity, she’d jump at a chance to revisit the world of Doctor Who, as it holds some of her most cherished memories.
Despite Doctor Who not receiving a renewal confirmation from Disney+ and the BBC as of now, enthusiasts continue to ponder over potential changes that Piper’s appearance might bring to forthcoming episodes.
Hey there fellow gamers! Last June, our beloved showrunner Russell T Davies dropped a little teaser in Doctor Who Magazine. He was all optimistic, saying that Doctor Who is going to keep rolling like an endless game level. But
“Hopefully, we’ll have news soon,” he concluded.

Fans might still have a chance since BBC’s top content executive, Kate Phillips, has indicated that the series could continue, regardless of whether the American company decides to leave.
She confidently stated that there’s no need to worry, as “Doctor Who” isn’t vanishing anywhere. Although Disney has been a fantastic collaborator – and their partnership persists with “The War Between The Land And The Sea” due next year – it’s important to note that regardless of whether Disney stays involved or not, “Doctor Who” will continue to be on the BBC. In essence, the TARDIS is firmly rooted in place.
