A social media personality who underwent nearly $90,000 worth of cosmetic surgery to achieve her ideal appearance now says she doesn’t recognize herself in older pictures.
Janaina Prazeres explained to the Daily Mail that she’s removed older photos from her social media accounts because she no longer feels like the person she was before her surgery.
The 36-year-old woman, known for her figure, says she doesn’t feel ashamed or sorry about the cosmetic procedures she’s had.
‘It’s not about erasing history; it’s about updating the archive,’ she explains.
Honestly, looking at those old pictures… it’s like seeing a completely different person. I’ve grown so much, inside and out, that those photos don’t even feel like me anymore. It’s like they belong to someone I used to be, a life I’ve completely moved on from. It’s a bit strange, but also… freeing, you know? That chapter is closed for good.
Janaina, originally from Brazil, views her social media profiles as a curated representation of who she is now, and prefers they don’t reflect her past self.
‘Your social profile is a form of storytelling,’ she says.
‘I want people to encounter the woman I am now, not a timeline that no longer reflects my reality.’
Janaina has had over twenty cosmetic surgeries in recent years, costing her more than US$60,000 (approximately AU$85,879).
Okay, so she’s had everything done. I mean, seriously! We’re talking about super advanced stuff like HD liposuction – it’s not just regular lipo, it’s sculpting! And multiple nose jobs? She’s completely reshaped her face. Plus, silicone implants, obviously, but then it gets wild – bioplasty on her face and butt! Like, filling everything out. And can you believe she actually had ribs removed?! It’s…it’s dedication, honestly. She’s transformed herself completely.
She explains that changing her body also had a big impact on how she felt inside, and she became much more confident as she transformed her appearance.
‘My body changed. My face changed. My confidence changed,’ she says.
Looking back at old photos, I barely recognized myself after all the changes I’ve gone through. Now, I’m happy to present the person I’ve become.
I remember Janaina before all her surgeries so vividly. She was a beautiful young woman with dark brown hair, and while her features were different then – a slightly wider nose, softer lips, and a more rounded chin – she was absolutely lovely. It’s amazing how much things can change, but I always remember her natural beauty.
She now embraces a glamorous look, characterized by fuller features like plump lips, a defined jawline, and a curvaceous figure, often with blonde hair.
Janaina isn’t alone in feeling unrecognizable – she’s had similar problems before, including difficulties with dating apps and when going through airport security.
She famously got banned from dating apps because her profile was so attractive, the system mistakenly flagged her as a computer-generated fake.
Janaina, once called ‘the world’s most perfect woman‘ by Playboy Norway, says she felt like she was living two different lives.
‘The woman I was, the woman AI identified, and the woman I actually feel like today.’
Janaina had trouble with airport security last year when traveling from Brazil to the United States because her current appearance didn’t match the photo in her passport.
Immigration officials stopped her for questioning and held her for 40 minutes because her passport photo didn’t match her current appearance, causing some confusion.
Janaina felt humiliated having to prove who she was and changed her passport photo as soon as she got home.
