The recent stats from the 2025 League of Legends Swiss Stage are pretty wild! Apparently, every time Renata Glasc was banned, it was specifically to counter one particular team.
The League of Legends 2025 World Championship has finished its initial Swiss Stage, and the top eight teams are moving on to the playoffs. After more than 50 matches, here’s a look at some of the most interesting highlights and stats from this year’s international competition.
A total of 52 games were played during the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2025. These games consisted of 20 best-of-one matches and 13 best-of-three series. Please note that the following statistics do not include the match between Invictus Gaming and T1 from the play-in stage.
Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage stats: Champions
Players chose from a total of 75 different champions. The most popular picks were Xin Zhao, who appeared in 21 games, followed by K’Sante and Alistar, both appearing in 19 games.
Only 22 champions were chosen by players a single time during the matches. These included Soraka (played by FLY Alan “Busio” Cwalina), Anivia (Rasmus “Caps” Winther), and Smolder in the mid lane (Lin “Creme” Jian). Draven was picked twice, both times by CFO Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-chuan, and he won both of those games.

Interestingly, some champions were banned but not picked. They are:
- Renata Glasc (4 bans) – All bans were against Top Esports. The champion has a 44.4% ban rate against TES this Worlds.
- 100T, BLG, G2, and GEN were the teams that banned her. Only Gen.G was able to pick up a win vs TES in the games where Renata was banned.
- She is one of TES support Fu “Hang” Minghang’s signature picks. He has a 100% winrate on the champion across five games this year. Historically, he is 11W-6L on Renata.
- Lee Sin (2 bans)
- VKS banned him in game 3 vs PSG Talon.
- BLG banned him in their Bo1 vs 100T.
- Tristana (2 bans)
- Fnatic banned her twice in their Bo3 vs MKOI.
- MKOI botlaner David “Supa” Martínez García has a 5W-2L career record on Tristana. Six of his seven games were this year.
- Volibear (1 ban)
- FLY banned him in their game 2 vs G2.
- Gwen (1 ban)
- TES banned her in their game 3 vs BLG.
- BLG toplaner Chen “Bin” Zebin has 66 professional games on Gwen with a 65.2% winrate.
- Vex (1 ban)
- VKS banned her in their game 3 vs MKOI. In this game, VKS drafted a full team with dashes (Jayce, Vi, Aurora, Kai’Sa, Leona).
- MKOI midlaner Joseph “Jojopyun” Pyun has 0 competitive games on Vex.

See the table at the end of this article for the full pick/ban stats on champions.
Player and team stats in Worlds 2025
CTBC Flying Oyster recently achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first team from the Pacific region in a decade to reach the top 8 at the League of Legends World Championship. Previously, in 2015, two Taiwanese teams – ahq e-Sports Club and Flash Wolves – also made it to the playoffs, but were defeated by SK Telecom T1 and Origen in the quarterfinal rounds, respectively.
- The youngest CFO member, mid laner Tsai “hongQ” Ming-hong, was 8 years old when this happened.
- Their coach, Wong “Chawy” Xing Lei, found humor in the fact that he once again had to face FlyQuest years after his stint coaching for TSM.
Currently, five players are tied for the highest number of kills in a single game. As expected, AD carries dominate, with four of the five players being MKOI Supa, CFO Doggo, VKS Matheus “Morttheus” Motta, and HLE Park “Viper” Do-hyeon. Bin is the only top-lane player among those tied for first.

Looking at creep score per minute (CS/min) during the event, the top players are all ADCs (Attack Damage Carries). However, none of the five players tied for the lead actually have the highest CS/min overall. Only Gen.G’s bot laner, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, averages over 10 CS/min and currently holds the record for the highest CS/min in a single game. In a match against PSG Talon, he earned 302 CS with Lucian in just over 27 minutes, averaging an impressive 11.04 CS per minute.
Bilibili Gaming and Movistar KOI are currently tied for the lead in champion diversity, each utilizing 33 unique champions during matches. Notably, both teams have fielded champions that no other team has used in competition.
- BLG: Elise (1 game)
- MKOI: Vayne (2 games), Kassadin, Ahri, Lulu (1 game each).
Only KT Rolster has a 100% win rate in Worlds.
Map stats in Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage
Players have defeated the Cloud Drake more than any other, with 47 kills. The Ocean Drake has been defeated the fewest times, at 23. Here’s a breakdown of how many times each Drake has been defeated:
- Cloud – 47
- Chemtech – 44
- Hextech – 43
- Infernal – 41
- Mountain – 37
- Ocean – 23
Claiming the Dragon Soul has led to a win 100% of the time.
Surprisingly, teams win slightly more often when they have no Voidgrubs (37.5% win rate) compared to when they have one (35% win rate). This might happen because teams sometimes choose to give up the Rift Herald (Drake) and ignore the Voidgrub, rather than risk letting the other team get ahead.
