Okay, so I’m really excited to share what went down on the first day of the League of Legends Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage! It was the official kickoff to the whole international tournament, and it was packed with action. Here’s a quick recap of everything that happened.
The main event of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship is underway! Following T1’s qualification as the LCK’s fourth seed after defeating Invictus Gaming from the LPL, the Swiss Stage has officially begun. Here’s a recap of the first day’s matches.
Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage Day 1 matchups
The Swiss Stage involves matches where players compete in either a single game or a best-of-three series. On the first day, all matches will be single games. T1 qualified for the Swiss Stage after defeating Invictus Gaming in the play-in round.

Vivo Keyd Stars (LTA #2) vs Team Secret Whales (LCP #2)
The first match of the day started the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2025. Vivo Keyd Stars tried to surprise Team Secret Whales with an early attack, but their Jarvan IV was too under-leveled to be effective. This gave Team Secret Whales an initial advantage and a few early kills, though VKS quickly responded by punishing Lê “Hizto” Văn Hoàng Hải for playing too aggressively.
Team Secret Whales managed to maintain their advantage, despite some chaotic team communication on both sides that made the game messy. They consistently won team fights and secured objectives, and with the powerful Infernal Soul buff and a large gold lead, they easily defeated their opponents from LTA South. While VKS put up a fight and delayed the outcome, they couldn’t ultimately prevent Team Secret Whales from winning.
The LCP begins Worlds 2025 with a win, thanks to the Vietnamese squad of Team Secret Whales.
