100% of the earnings from the Reven Pack digital bundle, launched in October 2024 and available for purchase until January 7, 2025, were donated to CureDuchenne, a charitable organization.

During the campaign, there was an overwhelming show of affection for Mats “Ibelin” Steen from various parts of the globe. People came together to honor his life, and a significant number of them paid tribute at his in-game memorial. This was a poignant moment where his longtime friends, along with many others, participated in their annual run as a tribute to him. This heartwarming display of empathy and kindness echoed far and wide.

To provide some background, the idea for the Reven Pack’s charitable pet was sparked by a Netflix documentary featuring Ibelin, a World of Warcraft player diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The film delved into the life of this Norwegian gamer following the outreach from his online friends to his family after his demise. In Norwegian, “reven” refers to a fox.

A contribution of $2 million is earmarked for furthering study toward finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and enhancing care for individuals battling this condition globally.

Debra Miller, head of CureDuchenne, praised the Reven Pack campaign as truly exceptional. Moreover, she recognized its significant role in boosting public understanding.

This partnership has given thousands of families impacted by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy a sense of recognition, empathy, and assistance that’s truly remarkable,” Miller stated. “The World of Warcraft community has demonstrated how gaming can be an extraordinary agent for positive change, and we are profoundly thankful to Blizzard, the Steen family, and every player who participated in our tribute to Mats Steen, contributing significantly to improving the lives of those battling Duchenne.

holly longdale, the executive producer of world of warcraft, expressed her sentiments regarding the campaign as well. She conveyed that she is touched by the generosity of the world of warcraft community and expressed gratitude towards its players, the Steen family, and the CureDuchenne team.

She encouraged everyone to keep on backing CureDuchenne whenever they can, and to remember Ibelin by showing kindness and happiness, whether it’s within the game or in real life.
