
At midnight, it marks as Patch 12.0 on the World of Warcraft’s clock, and during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, they unveiled information about the forthcoming expansion.
Although World of Warcraft may not reach the levels of popularity it had in 2009, the unveiling of Midnight at Gamescom has stirred excitement among players. The Opening Night Live event provided a perfect platform for the announcement, which was eagerly awaited as news about the upcoming expansion in the series. Known as Patch 12.0 within World of Warcraft, Midnight was showcased at Gamescom, and fans are hoping that this time around, housing will be properly implemented.
World of Warcraft: Gamescom strikes Midnight

For a while now, we’ve been anticipating the next stage in Blizzard’s popular MMORPG, World of Warcraft. During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, we got a complete look at Midnight, providing us a glimpse into the game’s future and its enduring franchise. Despite not receiving an official release date, the unveiling offered a sneak peek into some long-awaited features. As expected, the cinematic provided a tantalizing preview of the storyline to come.
Due to the threat to the Sunwell, Lady Liadrin and Lor’themar engage Xal’atath’s troops in Sunwell Plateau. During Gamescom’s final presentation, it was disclosed that World of Warcraft: Midnight will be available in 2026. Since a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, the game can only be pre-ordered for now.
Despite having plenty of time left for The War Within, Midnight seems set to impress already. Over the coming days, we’ll get a sneak peek at Player Housing, among other things. Confirmed so far are a fresh Demon Hunter specialization and a new allied race. However, it’s likely that there’s more in store for us.
