Woody Harrelson, 64, makes very rare appearance with ‘reclusive’ Hawaiian wife after more than 35 years together

Woody Harrelson made a rare appearance with his wife Laura Louie on Thursday.

The two were seen at the Hollywood Walk Of Fame where director James L Brooks received a star.

It was such a lovely day at the Hollywood Walk of Fame! I was there as Woody Harrelson, the incredibly talented 64-year-old Emmy winner, celebrated his new star. He looked so happy posing with his friend, and later, when Jamie Lee Curtis gave a beautiful speech, I spotted Woody in the audience with his wife, Louie – she’s a wonderful woman, and they’re a truly lovely couple. It was a really heartwarming moment to witness.

The couple has been together for 35 years, marrying in 2008. They have two daughters: Deni, who is 32, and Makani, 18.

Emma Stone prefers to keep a low profile and is generally more private than her husband. She hasn’t been seen with him on a red carpet since 2023.

Louie stepped out wearing a straw hat and a burgundy patterned dress, and she was carrying what looked like a water bottle. She wasn’t wearing any makeup.

Harrelson had on a beige top and gray slacks as he too had on a straw hat.

They first met in 1987 on the set of his TV show, Cheers. The very next day, he supposedly hired her as his assistant.

They began dating about 30 years ago, but she had already been his personal assistant for three years prior to that.

Previously, he was married to writer and author Nancy Simon from 1985 to 1986.

In 2008, Woody Harrelson and Laura Louie got married in a small, private ceremony in Maui, Hawaii, after being together for almost twenty years.

The couple had two daughters: Deni, born in March 1994, and Zoe, born in September 1996. Zoe is currently 26 years old.

Around a decade later, they welcomed their third and youngest daughter Makani in June 2006.

Earlier this year Harrelson said he turned down a role in The White Lotus for scheduling reasons.

The actor was considered for a role in the third season of the HBO drama, potentially playing either Rick or Frank – roles ultimately filled by Walton Goggins and Sam Rockwell. He’s clarified that he turned down the part not because of the money, but because filming would have conflicted with a pre-planned family vacation.

In a statement to The Daily Beast, Harrelson explained that he was originally going to appear on The White Lotus and was looking forward to it.

Their production schedule changed, and it clashed with a family vacation I’d already planned, which put me in a really difficult position.

It seems like things are working out well, because I couldn’t have done a better job than Sam – they’re doing amazing!

I’ve been a huge fan of Woody Harrelson for years, and it’s just so him that I recently learned he doesn’t even have a cell phone! Ted Danson, who worked with him on Cheers, shared that Woody hasn’t used one in ages, and honestly, Danson said he can’t help but chuckle when people try to reach him. It just perfectly captures his personality – wonderfully disconnected and authentic!

On their podcast, ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name,’ Danson shared something surprising about Woody: he doesn’t own a cell phone.

He’s the type of person who takes advantage of others, making them do things for him, like holding his phone. If he tells someone, ‘Hey, we need to know something right away, call Woody,’ I just find it amusing.

Harrelson explained that he doesn’t own one of the devices because he wants to feel free.

He explained that he doesn’t want to feel obligated to be constantly reachable by anyone. He enjoys connecting with people, but dislikes the feeling of always being ‘on call’ or tethered to his devices.

The actor from White Men Can’t Jump explained that he stopped using his cell phone because he realized he was spending too much time on it.

Harrelson remembered creating a rule for himself: he would only allow himself to use his phone for two hours at a time.

It’s already 9:30, and I’m completely worn out. I woke up and have been dealing with this for two hours straight, and it just doesn’t seem to stop.
