It appears that the forthcoming “Wonder Woman” video game by Warner Bros. has undergone a revamp, switched directors, and remains several years from hitting the shelves.
As a dedicated follower, I’d like to share some intriguing insights I stumbled upon. These details seem to originate from a comprehensive report by Bloomberg, offering a deep dive into the project in question. Interestingly, they appear to rely on unidentified sources who claim to be closely involved with it.
One significant project for our company, a video game inspired by Wonder Woman, has faced challenges in coming together as expected, based on information from people within the team. Last year, the project underwent a restart and changed its director.
According to unnamed sources sharing confidential data, the production cost of this game exceeds $100 million so far, and it may take several more years before it’s potentially released.
Back in 2021, during the Game Awards, I got incredibly excited about a new game announcement. Ever since, there hasn’t been much information publicly disclosed about it. Initially, it was thought that this game might leverage Warner Bros.’ nemesis system, which they actually patented.
Lately, Warner Bros. has been facing some tough times in the entertainment industry. According to recent reports, their games Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and MultiVersus have not been successful. Additionally, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has not fared well either.
Within the company, the chaos has resulted in organizational changes as well. According to interviews with two dozen current and former employees at Warner Bros., a clear, unified vision was lacking during Haddad’s tenure – a tumultuous era marked by numerous restructurings. This lack of direction led to years of fruitless attempts to follow trends and misused development resources.
Warner Bros. has yet to officially comment on the report or on Wonder Woman in particular.
