The woman surprised with an 80th birthday visit from Oprah Winfrey has shared what the media mogul is like in person.
Clarissa Hill, a beloved dance teacher who lives at Levande Greenleaves retirement village in Queensland, celebrated a special birthday with a high tea over the weekend.
The talk show host noticed a sign at the CBD Hotel and decided to give the birthday girl a surprise visit, which completely stunned her.
‘It got to 2pm and I thought we’d better cut the cake,’ she exclusively revealed to Daily Mail.
The very next moment, someone started singing ‘Happy Birthday,’ and I was completely stunned when I realized it was Oprah!
Clarissa gushed over the 71-year-old and the spontaneous moment that ‘she won’t forget in a hurry’.
‘She was so gracious and full of fun, everyone had a ball with her,’ she revealed.
She said they were walking by and noticed the sign for my party. She then told her friends, “Let’s go to that party!”
Clarissa added: ‘It was the icing on the cake of a lovely day!’
Oprah shared a video showing Clarissa’s surprised and happy reaction when a celebrity unexpectedly showed up at her birthday party.
“How are you feeling on this special day? Can you believe it’s here?” Oprah asked in the video.
‘That was wonderful. Thank you so much,’ she told the TV host.
She expressed her admiration, hoping the person being honored would enjoy celebrating with loved ones and reflecting on their life’s journey, which was met with enthusiastic applause.
Oprah is having a wonderful time in Australia, connecting with fans and visiting popular restaurants.
While visiting Sydney, she had breakfast at bills in Bondi and tried their famous ricotta pancakes, which Australian actor Hugh Jackman had suggested she try.
She showed off the fluffy ricotta pancakes in an Instagram video, explaining, ‘These are the pancakes that Hugh Jackman raves about!’
After trying the famous dish, Oprah nodded and confirmed, ‘Hugh was right.’
“You’re totally right, Hugh,” she told the camera. “If you ever come to Sydney, you absolutely have to visit! We had a group of twelve, and we all ate so much!”
