Woman becomes trapped inside her own body in tense trailer for Netflix film Don’t Move
As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast, I have to say that the trailer for Don’t Move has got me absolutely terrified! With my years of experience playing survival horror games like Dead Space and Outlast, I can tell you that this movie seems to hit all the right notes.
In a life-threatening scenario, if someone is pursuing you but you can neither shout for help, engage in a physical confrontation, nor flee, what would be your course of action? This is the predicament Iris (Kelsey Asbille) encounters in the forthcoming Sam Raimi-backed Netflix horror-thriller titled Don’t Move.
Netflix released the first official trailer for the movie during Geeked Week. Watch it below.
As a gamer, I was instantly chilled to my core by the ominous opening scene in this trailer, a fear that seemed amplified for any female viewer. The sight of Iris lying lifelessly in the grass sent shivers down my spine, and Finn Wittrock’s menacing words about injecting her with a paralytic agent only added to the unease. Ugh, just thinking about it makes me feel sick.
After that, he explains that Iris’s bodily functions will gradually fail over the next twenty minutes. This process starts with the loss of fine motor skills, followed by paralysis in her legs, then her voice, and ultimately a complete shutdown. A scene shows Iris sitting in a truck, unable to seek help from the nearby police officer. At this point, Iris is essentially imprisoned by her own body, and given Wittrock’s character’s reputation as a skilled killer, it seems whatever he has in store for Iris can’t be positive.
This October, “Don’t Move” is set to premiere as part of Netflix’s Halloween entertainment collection, labeled as R-rated for its intense violence and profane language. The film is directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, with a screenplay jointly written by T.J. Cimfel and David White.
Actress Kelsey Asbille primarily gained recognition through her performances in TV series such as “One Tree Hill”, “Teen Wolf”, “Wind River”, “Fargo”, and the current hit show “Yellowstone”. Wittrock, on the other hand, has a history with horror productions, having featured in various projects by Ryan Murphy like “Ratched” on Netflix, “American Crime Story”, and multiple installments of “American Horror Story”.
This October, Netflix is set to roll out several fresh horror titles. Apart from “Don’t Move,” other spine-tingling premieres include “It’s What’s Inside,” “The Platform 2,” “Time Cut,” and “Woman of the Hour.
Starting this Friday, October 25th, you can watch “Don’t Move” on Netflix! Remember to mark your calendar so you don’t miss it.
