Wisdom runes, Lotus Pools converted to Shrines in Dota 2 patch 7.38
Bring a few teammates for these vital Dota 2 objectives.
In a more engaging twist, Dota 2 creators, Valve, are incorporating League of Legends-style dynamic objectives into their Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game with the release of patch 7.38. This update introduces two significant resources, Wisdom runes and Lotus Pools, as more interactive objectives to enhance the gameplay experience.
In simpler terms, both locations have now become “Sanctuaries” where a team must keep rival players at bay to claim each reward. Additionally, significant alterations in the game map motivate Dota players to explore beyond their usual lanes more frequently.
Wisdom, Lotus Shrines encourage early battle for big rewards
In patch 7.38, it’s no longer about effortlessly grabbing rune pickups or capturing Lotuses. Now, players must venture into the Shrines and briefly wait to receive their rewards. For Wisdom Shrines, it will be experience points, while for Lotus Shrines, you’ll gather Lotus Petals.
Instead of being nestled near the old Tormentor locations, the wisdom shrines are now situated more centrally along both lanes, closer to the map’s center. The previous Tormentor spots have been relocated to where the old Roshan pits used to be.
As an enthusiast, I’d like to point out that acquiring the Wisdom or Lotus Shrines isn’t as straightforward as just passing by once. Instead, you’ve got to linger in the center for a bit to activate them, and then hold off any enemy heroes so they can fully activate. This feature makes these shrines highly contested, fostering an environment where battles for control of the lane start earlier.
In the game, there have been no adjustments to the Wisdom shrines; they’ll continue to respawn every seven minutes as before. However, it’s worth noting that Lotus Pools will produce higher-tier Lotuses later in the game. These Lotuses are often overlooked by players unless they’ve been diligently collecting them throughout a match.
In the later stages of play, you’ll find it much more feasible to reach the elusive Block of Cheese. Higher-tiered Great Lotuses will emerge, offering neutral items at level four, and the pools themselves will generate Greater Lotuses that bestow tier five neutrals upon you.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but get excited about the latest updates! The new safe lanes with their continuous streams and Roshan’s reappearance by the river have really amped up the competition for objectives. Scuffles over Lotus Petals will undoubtedly favor the safe lane, but to challenge for that valuable XP, I’ll need to keep an eye on Wisdom Shrines and build a significant advantage in lane positioning. It’s going to be a thrilling ride!
