Wimbledon goes walkabout! Cate Blanchett, Rebel Wilson and Russell Crowe serve up sophistication on Centre Court as Aussie stars lead arrivals on day two of Championships
On Tuesday, the Royal Box at Centre Court was overwhelmingly filled with Australian presence, as Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, and Rebel Wilson graced the entrance for the second day of the Wimbledon Championships 2025.
Originally hailing from a land known for its scorching summers, this group of three Australian film celebrities seemed more adept at handling the intense heatwave while attending an event at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
According to the Met Office, temperatures may soar up to 36 degrees Celsius (or about 97 degrees Fahrenheit) following Monday’s unprecedented heat at Wimbledon and a high of 33.1 degrees Celsius (31.6 degrees Celsius in London).
56-year-old two-time Academy Award winner, Cate, exuded grace in a soft baby-blue double-breasted jacket and coordinating plaid trouser ensemble.
Under a pair of reflective aviator sunglasses, she hid her face while settling into her seat, accompanied by her mom, June, to enjoy the show.
The well-known actress, Rebel (age 45), gracefully took a seat next to her, exuding an aura of brilliance in a delicate pink gown adorned with gold embellishments and matching high heels.

In a stylish display, the actress from Pitch Perfect, alongside her partner Ramona Agruma, showcased summer elegance. Ramona wore a silver and white-striped dress that matched her open shirt.
This year’s wedding couple, previously joined in matrimony during an event in Sardinia, remained affectionate and content as they struck a pose prior to the commencement of the afternoon’s tennis match.
On this special event, Russell, aged 61, put on his formal attire, exuding elegance in a timeless black suit and crisp white collar shirt.
In a striking fashion choice, the actor from Gladiator donned a vibrant, plaid-patterned tie and tinted orange sunglasses, all while sharing a hearty laugh with his fiancée, Britney Theriot.
Britney appeared smitten as she snuggled close to Russell, projecting an air of elegance while adorning a floral pink gown accessorized with a spotted scarf.
In 2020, the pair started dating, leading people to suspect that they might be planning to get married, as the actress has been seen wearing a diamond ring in public lately.
It is believed that they might be planning an Italian wedding, as they were reportedly seen attending a church during a trip to Rome last year. A source revealed to Woman’s Day: ‘Italy has always been their preferred choice for the wedding location.’
Each visit strengthens their affection; it has long been their aspiration to exchange vows at that location.

In the opening round of the Ladies’ Singles competition, a number of well-known personalities were fully absorbed by the game on the court, as defending champion Barbora Krejcikova squared off against Alexandra Eala.
The British tennis player Jack Draper, currently ranked fourth globally, will be competing against Sebastian Baez from Argentina. With his recent performance, he has proven himself as a serious candidate vying for the prestigious championship title.

Meanwhile, on different courts, British tennis player Katie Boulter secured a significant win over Paula Badosa on Monday afternoon in the women’s singles competition. However, she returned to the grounds on Tuesday to spectate her fiancé, Alex De Minaur, during his initial match at the Championships.
Boulter found a great vantage point near Court 18 to cheer for her boyfriend as he played against Roberto Carballes Baena.
However, even as the scorching heat at Wimbledon peaked over 31 degrees Celsius on Tuesday mornings, the 28-year-old celebrity found respite from the sun under a stylish purple and green Wimbledon-emblazoned umbrella.
De Minaur got off to a solid start against the World No 72, Baena, claiming the first set 6-2.
Previously eliminated by world number 361 Lois Boisson in the French Open, Pegula suffered a defeat at the hands of the unranked 24-year-old, with scores of 6-2, 6-3.
2025 has been less than ideal for the daughter of NFL billionaire Terry Pegula, who reached her initial Grand Slam final at the 2024 US Open and was eliminated in the third round at this year’s Australian Open.
Today’s unexpected defeat against Cocciaretto, who previously hadn’t defeated a top-5 player, represents the lowest point following the dissolution of her Wimbledon aspirations, which were shattered in the opening round itself.
In the past five years, it marks one of her poorest performances at a Grand Slam tournament, as she was knocked out in the opening round at the French Open in 2020.
