Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan reunite (again) for Outlaw Music Festival 10th anniversary
As a die-hard film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to announce that the one and only Willie Nelson is hitting the road once more with his Outlaw Music Festival! To mark the festival’s grand decade milestone, he’s stretching the tour even further, promising an unforgettable musical journey for us all.
The renowned figure in country music has extended an invitation to Bob Dylan yet again to take part in his traveling performance series, which brings together a group of contemporary and traditional country artists and Americana musicians. This year’s lineup also features Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Sheryl Crow, Turnpike Troubadours, the Avett Brothers, Wilco, and several others.

On Wednesday evening, the roving Outlaw Music Festival featuring Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson made its stop at the Hollywood Bowl. Here are the top 10 highlights you won’t want to miss!
The Outlaw Music Festival Tour kicks off on May 13 at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix. Subsequently, three venues located in California will host this tour, one of which is the Hollywood Bowl on the same day (May 13). At these venues, Willie Nelson and his band will perform alongside Dylan, Strings, and Sierra Hull.
On May 15, our tour will make a stop in Chula Vista, followed by another stop on May 18 in Wheatland, California. On both occasions, we’ll be joined by the talented Lily Meola.
Performers set to appear at different locations along the way are Red Clay Strays, Lake Street Dive, Waxahatchee, Charles Wesley Godwin, Lucinda Williams, Bruce Hornsby & his band The Noisemakers, Trampled By Turtles, the Mavericks, Willow Avalon, Waylon Payne, Madeline Edwards, Myron Elkins and Tami Neilson.

In a twist of events, it was through the postal service in the U.S. that Willie Nelson’s second wife discovered about his upcoming third wife, who was also expecting a child with him. The intriguing story unfolds in a new documentary series on Paramount+.

At the recent tribute concert, the acts spanned from deeply moving to uproariously funny, all the way to incredibly skillful, encompassing a diverse range of emotions and talents.
2016 saw the birth of The Outlaw Music Festival in Scranton, PA, which turned out to be such a hit that I, along with my long-time manager Mark Rothbaum and promoter Blackbird Presents, decided to take it on the road as a touring event. In 2017, we played in 10 cities, and in 2018, we expanded to 18! Last year, our journey brought us to Los Angeles where I performed at the Bowl with Phil Lesh & Friends from the Grateful Dead, Sturgill Simpson, Margo Price, my son Lukas Nelson and his band Promise of the Real, and Particle Kid, who is none other than my other son J. Micah Nelson. As a movie lover might say, it was one heck of a concert!
As an ardent music enthusiast, I had the privilege of attending the unforgettable concert at the Bowl last summer, graced by none other than legends Nelson (91) and Dylan (83). Remarkably, they each held their own captivating performances on separate stages. The inimitable John Mellencamp, a seasoned American roots-music maestro at 73, added his own magic to the evening’s lineup. It was an extraordinary night that will forever remain etched in my memory.
