The reboot of the popular 1990s show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, titled Bel-Air, recently finished its run. The finale included a heartwarming appearance by Will Smith, who starred in the original series.
In the season four finale, as Will’s friends are waiting for him in the car, he gazes out at Los Angeles and is visited by a vision of the original Will Smith, appearing as a product of his own thoughts.
The young man shared his worries about what the future holds, explaining he’s afraid of losing the person he’s become since moving to Bel-Air when he returns home. His older self reassured him that these fears actually mean he recognizes he’s grown into someone valuable, and that’s something to celebrate.

“Don’t worry about having all the answers, all right?” he said. “Nobody does.”
He advises his younger self to expect mistakes, assuring him they’re a natural part of learning and growing.

He advised people to fully experience life – to laugh, cry, and enjoy simple pleasures like a cheesesteak, but in moderation, acknowledging the importance of health. Ultimately, he encouraged everyone to simply appreciate the journey of life.
“We’re gonna be all right,” he concluded.
Carla Banks Waddles, the showrunner, said the team had hoped to include Will Smith, who was also an executive producer, in a final episode appearance for a while, but it wasn’t confirmed until shortly before filming.

“We didn’t know if it would happen because of his schedule and everything,” she told Deadline.
We learned about two weeks ago that he’ll be able to return to the US and do it.
He’s incredibly busy, so getting this done felt like a real challenge. There were times we thought it wouldn’t happen, and then moments where we started to get our hopes up. I’m just relieved everything came together in the end.
In the US, you can watch Bel-Air on Peacock. In the UK, select episodes are available through NOW, or you can purchase them online.
