Will Ruzek go for revenge in Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 2? (Preview)

As a long-time fan of Chicago PD, I can’t help but feel a pang of dread every time a new season starts, knowing that it means another emotional rollercoaster ride is about to unfold. The ending of Season 12 premiere was a punch in the gut, and I can only imagine how Ruzek must be feeling after losing his partner Detective Emily Martel so tragically.

As a devoted viewer, I must admit that when Detective Emily Martel joined the cast of Chicago PD, it felt like a perfect match for Intelligence. Little did we anticipate that this addition would foreshadow an unexpected twist. And boy, was I taken aback when that shocking turn of events unfolded at the very end of Season 12’s premiere.

In the teaser for Chicago PD’s second episode of Season 12, it’s evident that Ruzek is seeking revenge. However, Voight seems to have taken a wise step back following the incidents of Season 11.

Ruzek wants revenge in Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 2

At the finale of the last episode, Martel received a fatal shot to the back of her head, with Ruzek unable to prevent it due to his back being turned. In a sneak peek for Chicago PD Season 12 Episode 2, we witness him gently moving her lifeless body onto his lap. With a burning desire for understanding and retribution, he now embarks on an investigation to uncover the truth behind her death.

Indeed, his intention appears to be seeking retribution rather than justice. This is yet another instance where Ruzek’s vengeful nature comes into play. What makes this situation different is the added complexity of guilt. You see, it was Ruzek who encouraged Emily to join Intelligence. After witnessing her partner being shot, she took a medical leave. Given that this turn of events might not have occurred if Ruzek hadn’t persuaded her, there’s an element of guilt involved in this entire scenario.

Yet, it’s evident that Voight isn’t advocating for revenge. Instead, he requires Intelligence to handle this correctly. He has a personal understanding of the consequences of revenge.

As a dedicated gamer diving into the world of Chicago PD, I find myself pondering if this ongoing case will be wrapped up in a single episode or if it’ll unfold across several. In Season 11, they took on a season-long plotline and it really kept me engaged by revisiting the same storyline. But here’s the thing: do I want to see Ruzek chasing down leads for revenge over multiple episodes? It could be thrilling, but at the same time, I wonder if it might become repetitive or drag on too long.
