He’s been gaining recognition lately, and now he’s set to star in and executive produce a new Apple TV+ crime drama called Beat the Reaper. The series is based on a novel by Josh Bazell and will feature the Guardians of the Galaxy and Warfare actor as Dr. Peter Brown. Sam Catlin, known for his work on Preacher and Breaking Bad, will serve as showrunner and executive producer.
The show centers around Brown, a medical intern at a particularly challenging Boston hospital. He’s gifted at his job, but haunted by a dangerous past he’s trying to escape. When a patient connects him to that past, Brown has just eight hours to avoid government agents, mobsters, unqualified surgeons, and the consequences of a string of gangland killings – all while fighting for his own survival. Actor Poulter has demonstrated a knack for both comedy and drama in previous roles, making him well-equipped to portray Brown’s complex story.
Poulter has several projects coming up, including the romantic drama Saturn Return with Rachel Brosnahan, the horror film Rapture, and the sci-fi comedy I Love Boosters, which also stars Demi Moore, Keke Palmer, and Taylour Paige. He’s also appeared in films like Death of a Unicorn, The Revenant, and Alan Ritchson’s War Machine. Plus, his guest role on The Bear even earned him an Emmy nomination.
Will Poulter Could Be One of the Stars Returning To the MCU

Marvel Studios
Will Poulter joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2023 with his role as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The character proved controversial among fans, as his portrayal differed from the traditional Marvel Comics version. Director James Gunn crafted a story where Warlock is prematurely awakened, resulting in a less mature and less powerful version of the character than fans were accustomed to.
Even with recent changes, Adam Warlock is likely to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie, alongside the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy team. The film is expected to feature almost every character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the past twenty years, and that includes the Guardians, despite questions about their future now that James Gunn has left Marvel Studios.
No matter what happens with his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Will Poulter is set for a busy future and appears to be just beginning his career. He’s worked on a diverse range of films and TV shows, meaning fans have plenty of options to enjoy his past performances – with the notable exception of Black Mirror‘s Bandersnatch, which Netflix recently removed from its interactive movie selection.
