Will Modern Warfare 3 skins transfer to Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

Will Modern Warfare 3 skins transfer to Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

As a long-time Call of Duty enthusiast who has been through the trenches of Modern Warfare 2 and 3, I must admit I was hoping for a reunion with my beloved skins from MW3 in Black Ops 6. Alas, it seems that Activision has other plans and we’ll have to start fresh once again.

Can you expect to have your MW3 skin collection in Black Ops 6?

For the first time in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 3 incorporated a “continuation” feature with its precursor, Modern Warfare 2. This continuity feature enabled players to move their character appearances (skins) from Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 3. Notably, skins earned in Modern Warfare 3 can also be used in Warzone.

But, with Call of Duty Black Ops 6 releasing soon, will this carry forward system be in effect?

Do Modern Warfare 3 skins carry over to Black Ops 6?

Regrettably, the skins from Modern Warfare 3 won’t move or persist into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Instead, they’ll remain functional within Warzone.

The continuity of the carry over system was largely facilitated by the fact that Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 shared many commonalities. These games were highly interconnected, featuring numerous identical items, mechanics, and more. However, as Call of Duty returns to the Black Ops series, this connection will no longer be present.

Will Modern Warfare 3 skins transfer to Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

In a statement made in June, Activision expressed their intention to ensure everyone begins anew, united, as they embark on a brand-new journey with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This means starting from scratch and experiencing the fresh adventure together.

It’s crucial to enable everyone to immerse themselves in the Black Ops universe authentically, mastering the era-specific weaponry and equipment, understanding the revolutionary gameplay mechanics such as Omnimovement, and preserving the unique style that Black Ops is known for.

Consequently, content from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III won’t be included in the Premium edition of Black Ops 6.

“The one exception is the Black Ops 6 Vault Edition Woods Operator Pack preorder benefit. It is currently available in Modern Warfare III and will carry forward into Black Ops 6.

In essence, it implies that even though the skins from Modern Warfare 3 may not carry over to Black Ops 6, you probably won’t feel their absence due to an entirely fresh collection of weapons and completely new gameplay dynamics to explore.

In the first season of Black Ops VI, weapons from the game will make their way into Warzone. The exact timeline for this integration is not yet determined, but it’s expected to occur at some point in the year 2024. Keep in mind that Call of Duty: Black Ops VI launches on October 25, 2024.
