Gary Lineker’s popular football podcast, The Rest Is Football, will be back on Netflix after its World Cup coverage. The show, also available on other platforms, features Lineker chatting about major football stories with fellow experts Alan Shearer and Micah Richards.
Launched in 2023, The Rest Is Football podcast has been following Premier League seasons and is set to continue through the 2026-27 season, starting August 21st, and will also cover Euro 2028, hosted by the UK and Ireland. Netflix recently announced that the podcast will return to its platform thanks to a new two-year partnership with Goalhanger, the company that produces it.
Starting in August, new episodes of the series will be released on Mondays and Fridays throughout the entire 40-week soccer season, including top-flight and Champions League matches.
Lineker, co-host and co-founder of Goalhanger, said they really enjoyed creating the show during the World Cup, and the public’s reaction was fantastic. He’s excited to continue releasing new episodes weekly on Netflix throughout the Premier League season.
