The fifth season of Emily in Paris briefly moves Lily Collins’ character to Rome, but not for long! The show, temporarily titled Emily in Rome, follows Emily Cooper as she attempts to manage the Agence Grateau’s new office in Italy while also navigating a relationship with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). However, it seems another European city might be her next destination.

Honestly, I was gutted when Emily found out Marcello had totally betrayed her. It really showed his true colors! It was such a blow that she and the whole crew had to give up and head back to Paris. Thankfully, the best part was seeing her reunite with Gabriel – Lucas Bravo is amazing, and they just belong together, you know?

Gabriel had his own separate storyline this season. The showrunner felt that focusing on a relationship between Emily and Gabriel didn’t fit with the overall direction of the season.

He’s been a core part of the show from the start, so I really didn’t want his character to be written off.

If Emily comes back for season 6, there’s a possibility she and Gabriel could end up together, after everything that’s happened on the show. However, the creator cautioned that a reunion wouldn’t be simple.

He doesn’t expect Emily and Gabriel to fall for each other right away, but he thinks it’s possible they could reconnect in the future.
