A fifth Jackass movie is officially happening and will be released in June, but it’s still unknown whether Bam Margera will be involved. Jackass started as a short-lived TV show on MTV but quickly became a huge part of pop culture in the early 2000s, known for its outrageous stunts and unique humor that hadn’t been seen on television before.
The Jackass crew first hit the big screen in 2002 with Jackass: The Movie, and they’ve made several sequels since then. Original cast members like Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, and Chris Pontius have been involved from the start and are expected to be in the next movie, the fifth installment. It’s less clear whether Bam Margera will return.
What Bam Margera Has Said About A Potential Jackass Return

Bam Margera told Cinema Blend he has no interest in rejoining the original Jackass crew for future stunts, saying no amount of money could convince him. He feels the relationships are too damaged to repair, stating, “The damage has been done.”
The issue centers around Bam Margera’s legal action against the producers of Jackass Forever, the latest film in the popular Jackass series. While disagreements and conflicts are common in the entertainment industry, lawsuits usually ruin working relationships and it’s unlikely that even fond memories or financial incentives could repair that damage.
Bam Margera is willing to work on future stunt and prank projects, but not with Johnny Knoxville or the original Jackass crew. The problem is, without the popularity of the Jackass brand, it’s harder to get people interested in those types of projects today. Since Margera said this in July 2025, it’s likely his feelings haven’t changed much.
What Happened With Bam Margera On Jackass Forever

When Jackass Forever came out in 2022, fans noticed Bam Margera wasn’t a major part of the movie. He made a quick appearance in one stunt, but wasn’t a regular cast member like before. This was due to a difficult situation behind the scenes – reports said Margera was removed from the film because he allegedly relapsed and broke his commitment to staying sober.
Bam Margera, known from Viva La Bam, first admitted he broke the terms of his sobriety agreement. However, he later claimed he was fired because he was taking medication legally prescribed to him. He then sued Paramount, MTV, Johnny Knoxville, and others, arguing he was wrongly fired after being pressured into signing a wellness agreement while receiving treatment for addiction.
The lawsuit was dropped permanently in 2022, preventing Margera from filing it again. Even though the case didn’t succeed, it’s unlikely the producers of Jackass 5 will want to work with him anytime soon. Regardless of whether he was rightfully fired, the lawsuit has probably ended his chances of appearing in future installments of the franchise.
