Wildermyth Brings Papercraft Turn-Based Tactical RPG Adventure to Xbox This October
As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Wildermyth: Console Edition is shaping up to be a truly unique addition to the tactical RPG genre. The character-driven narrative and procedurally generated content are intriguing elements that I’ve never encountered before, and the papercraft aesthetic is a refreshing change from the usual high-fantasy tropes.
In a recent announcement, it was revealed that the highly praised turn-based tactical role-playing game, Wildermyth, developed by Worldwalker Games, is scheduled for release on consoles in October.
Console Edition” is a strategy role-playing game that focuses on character development. As you guide a group of once ordinary farmers into becoming heroes, your choices impact both the storyline and the characters themselves.
As a devoted fan, I revel in the fact that every decision I make significantly shapes the look and skills of my characters. Over time, these heroes grow older, eventually passing away to pave the way for their offspring in subsequent adventures. Remarkably, my beloved heroes live on as part of an esteemed pantheon of legends, capable of being invoked for future playthroughs, ensuring their enduring legacy.
Wildermyth showcases an exceptional layered papercraft aesthetic, similar to that of a pop-up storybook from your childhood, while steering clear of traditional fantasy cliches by introducing unique creatures such as insect dragons and mechanical undead hybrids. On console platforms, the game will offer a revamped control scheme and user interface tailored for controllers, in addition to a fresh Monster Compendium and local cooperative multiplayer mode.
In just a few weeks, on October 22nd, Wildermyth: Console Edition will be available for play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Take a look at the trailer below to get a glimpse of this upcoming adventure!
