Kylie Gillies, host of The Morning Show, shared a relatable holiday experience on social media: nearly missing her flight for a vacation.
On Tuesday, the 58-year-old television personality from Channel Seven experienced chaotic scenes while traveling to the airport with her family.
Kylie shared a series of videos on her social media showing the busy scene at the airport before Christmas. She captured long lines, problems with luggage, and how crowded the terminals were.
‘An hour and 20 later, we’re through [the queue],’ Kylie said in the clip.
Kylie admitted she’d messed up the travel plans, and she was with her husband, Tony Gillies, and their son, Archie, when she told everyone.
In the video, she explained that she’d forgotten to arrange Archie’s luggage, and he’d left to meet them at the gate as a result.

Tony likened the family moment to a Christmas movie classic: ‘It’s like Home Alone.’
Once the airline had fixed the problem with her luggage, Kylie explained she’d had to send her 22-year-old son back to wait in line again to get a new baggage tag.
I just saw the cutest (and most relatable!) photo Kylie posted. It was of Archie looking totally fed up, sitting right on top of a suitcase while they waited in this huge line. Honestly, it perfectly captured the travel struggle!
Kylie also shared images of a lengthy lineup of passengers outside the terminal.
‘Can somebody put the turkey on? We may not make it by Christmas Day,’ she joked in the caption.
Oh my gosh, you guys, Kylie posted! She just shared a picture from her seat on the plane, and I’m literally breathing again! It means she and the whole family made it on board safe and sound before takeoff! I was so worried, and seeing that picture just… everything is okay now. I’m so relieved!
She chuckled and said, ‘Now I’ll just enjoy the movie selection.’ Then, with a smile, she added, ‘Thank you, and have a safe flight.’
This follows Kylie starting a new phase in her life, as her oldest son recently relocated to Berlin for a job he’s always wanted.

A longtime personality at the Seven network shared emotional photos on Sunday of her son, Gus, departing from Sydney Airport. She also reflected on the experience of becoming an empty nester.
The author, 58, started an Instagram post by sharing something they read: it’s best not to tell your children, “You make me so proud,” because it shifts the focus onto your own feelings instead of their accomplishment.
‘Instead you SHOULD say to them, “You should be so proud of YOURSELF.” I understand the sentiment.’
As a lifestyle expert, it always warms my heart to see someone chasing their dreams! I’m thrilled for Gus – he’s taking a huge step, moving all the way to Berlin for the job he’s always wanted. I truly hope he feels proud of himself – he deserves it!
Kylie was happy for her son, Gus, and his exciting new opportunity, but she confessed it was difficult seeing him move so far away.
Honestly, it’s been a bit emotional around here. Saying goodbye to someone at the airport – really holding them tight before they go – always leaves me feeling a little unsteady for a few days. It’s a tough part of life, but so important to show your love.
She ended her touching message by saying his final weeks in Sydney were full of warm goodbyes to loved ones, including plenty of time with family, friends, his cat, and his grandmother. She wished him all the best, writing ‘Go get ’em Gus,’ and finished with a loving ‘We love you.’
The photos showed Kylie crying and hugging her oldest son, who was much taller than her. It was clear she was very emotional.
