Wild Rift Taliyah Guide: Skill Analysis

Passive: Rock Surfing

Gains 10% Movement Speed while out of combat and near a wall.

Skill 1: Threaded Volley

Taliyah throws five rocks towards a target location. Each rock deals magic damage to enemies it hits, affecting an area around the first enemy struck. This creates patches of ‘Worked Ground’ beneath Taliyah. If the same enemy is hit multiple times, the damage from later rocks is significantly reduced (by 60%).

Threaded Volley casts on Worked Ground:

  • Costs 10 Mana and consumes the Worked Ground.
  • Have 50% less cooldown;
  • Taliyah hurls boulders that deal bonus magic damage to the primary target, slowing enemies hit for 1.5 seconds;
  • Monsters hit by the boulders are stunned for 3 seconds.
  • Each rock deals 20 bonus magic damage against monsters, and each boulder deals 36 bonus magic damage against monsters.

Skill 2: Seismic Shove

Taliyah makes the ground burst open, briefly stunning and then pushing nearby enemies in the direction you choose.

Skill 3: Unraveled Earth

Taliyah throws out scattered stones that damage enemies and slow them down slightly for a very short time. If an enemy dashes or is forced through these stones, they explode, dealing extra damage and briefly stopping the enemy’s movement completely.

This attack always fully stuns monsters, and it deals 190% extra damage to them.

Ultimate ability: Weaver’s Wall

Taliyah builds a large wall of earth over 4 seconds. When the wall appears, it pushes back any nearby enemies. She can also destroy the wall prematurely by using the ability again.

If used again right away, Taliyah continues riding along the wall as it disappears. The ride stops if she moves or becomes unable to act. She can’t use this ability if she’s recently been hit by an enemy champion or building – specifically within the last 3 seconds.

Skill-up method for Taliyah

Focus on leveling up Skill 1 first to help Taliyah clear lanes and the jungle faster. Next, prioritize Skill 3 for better crowd control and area damage. After that, upgrade Skill 2. Whenever you can, unlock and upgrade her ultimate ability.

Wild Rift Taliyah Guide: Gameplay Tips

Taliyah is a versatile champion who can play as either a mage or a jungler. She’s particularly good at controlling where enemies can move and setting up powerful team fights around important objectives on the map. This guide will explain how to play Taliyah effectively in the early, mid, and late stages of the game.

Early Game

Early in the game, Taliyah excels at quickly clearing the jungle and safely harassing opponents from a distance. Because of this, she’s best played as a Jungler. Use her first ability frequently to clear jungle camps rapidly and create ‘Worked Ground,’ which reduces its cooldown and makes her attacks more powerful. Unlock and use her ultimate, ‘Unraveled Earth,’ as soon as possible; it deals extra damage to monsters and stuns them, making jungle clearing much faster.

Taliyah’s second ability is excellent for moving yourself and enemies into position for damage from her ultimate. This lets you deal more damage and control opponents in team fights or when surprising enemies in other lanes. As a jungler, it’s important to move between lanes to help your teammates. Use the extra movement speed from Taliyah’s passive to rotate quickly and efficiently.

Focus on working with your teammates in the mid lane, as well as your roaming support and carry, to plan attacks and surprise enemy players near important objectives. A couple of well-timed movements around the map early on can set your team up for success, especially when the Rift Herald appears. Here’s a helpful skill combination to get you started in the early game:

Skill 3 → Skill 2 → Skill 1

Mid Game

As the game progresses, Taliyah excels at moving around the map and influencing fights, making it easier to secure objectives. Her ability to push enemies with Seismic Shove and then damage them with Unraveled Earth becomes particularly powerful, as hitting enemies with the rocks causes significant damage and slows them down. Threaded Volley continues to be her primary way to deal damage, both to enemies and when clearing jungle camps.

Once you unlock Taliyah’s ultimate ability, it significantly impacts the game, especially when moving around the map. Weaver’s Wall greatly increases her ability to control the battlefield, letting her quickly move to help teammates, cut off enemies trying to escape, or single out important targets in team fights. A strategically placed Wall can completely shift a fight in your favor, allowing for fast rotations, trapping opponents, or controlling objectives like Dragon and Rift Herald.

To help your team win in the later stages of the game, focus on using Taliyah’s ultimate ability effectively. Here’s a powerful combination to use with Taliyah when the game progresses to the mid and late stages:

Skill 3 → Skill 2 → Skill 1 → Ultimate Ability

Late Game

As the game goes on, Taliyah transforms into a powerful mage who can dominate team fights if she’s well-positioned. Focus on staying behind your tanks and consistently harassing enemies with her Threaded Volley while keeping a safe distance.

The combination of Taliyah’s ‘Seismic Shove’ and ‘Unraveled Earth’ is particularly strong in this situation, making her a tough opponent for assassins and champions who depend on quickly closing the distance. Let’s take a look at who counters Taliyah well, as well as her biggest strengths and weaknesses.
